The Last of Us Limited Edition Strategy Guide

A great companion with the game The Last Of Us for the completionists or for those who like to have a detailed in game guide for their favourite game. It is a high-class hardcover and detailed game guide with tons of information and detailed info about the locations, collectibles, trophies in the single player campaign and also in the factions - the multiplayer part of the game, which I haven't even touched yet. It is only my second guide I bought from BradyGames, the first one was the Half Life 2 game guide I bought a long long time ago. It comes in plastic wrap and in a styrofoam protected book sized wrap you have the slick looking "firefly" keychain, which I instanlty hanged onto my car keys ring. It's a wonderful looking limited edition game guide with an exquisite hardcover mat finish cover and a wonderful the last of us logo exserted from it. So to sum up, it is a perfected game guide with a sleek looking mat finish and it comes with a cool firefly keychain.

The Last of Us is the reason I have a PS3, being and Xbox player, and this guide does a great job of going through the game and getting you out of some situations. I love the strategy guides and this only helps a person get through the game. It has everything that most people want in a guide, maps, descriptions, pictures, and where some of those things people want to find for trophies are. That said, this does have a few faults and the reason for the 4 star rating. It does lack in some situations when it come to finding certain things with some unclear directions and confusing pictures. It does have great maps detailing where items and things are, but on multi-level maps it can get downright confusing. It also does have separate sections for finding those extra items, but it also has its issues with giving some details. For me the reason I generally get Collectors Edition guides is for some bonus content about the history of the game, development of the game, or an interview. This guide lacks this part entirely. Which to me is a huge disappointment. The flaws in this guide however is something I seem to notice about BradyGames guides in general. I prefer Prima guides for various reasons, but BradyGames did a better job than other guides for various other games. Overall, it is a great guide despite its problems and will help anyone playing the game, just expect to hit pause a few times if you try and read the maps.

For just a few dollars more than the regular edition guide this special edition one is a great deal. The keychain is a neat trinket that's just like the one in the game. The guide itself is very sturdy and is sure to be more resilient to wear and tear than a regular edition guide. The guide offers lots of great tips and walk-throughs for the game as well as having a great layout and art throughout.

This is my absolute favorite video game, so I will pay anything for the limited edition guide for it. The keychain was an added bonus, I just wish I could put my name on one side of it. The book was brand new as said in the description and the inside was polished and fresh. I enjoyed the sleekness of the design on the outside cover and I love hard cover books. I think anybody who is interested in buying a guide for their video game should consider buying from Brady Games because their guides are the best.

This guide is nicely organized, comes with a Firefly collector's pendant and will guide you through 15 hours of exciting adventure. The edition is a hard covered, but not Smythe-sewn, which means it is glued and can still come apart if you treat it too roughly. The author's have included all the hidden secrets, the location of all of the pendants and some strategic pointers to aid you along your journey. If you are a completist, you will appreciate this guide. BUT, if you are anti-spoilers, you would be advised to complete the game first and then go back and, with the aid of the guide, play the game through a second time and find all of the hidden goodies. Recommended.

This will supplement anyone who was able to get either the survival edition, or the post-pandemic edition. If you didn't and you are into monsters, this would be a pretty nice addition to get, if you're a collector and or a fan is a must. Remember with the plethora of guides in the internet the only way these physical guides stand a chance is in their aesthetic presentation. They offer good content to get through the game, but for those into comics, or into art these collectors edition guides deriving from some of their favorite games are a win win situation. That's how it is for me anyways! The game is great and to platinum the game get the guide.

This guide is great and the keychain that comes with it seems to be very sturdy and well made. The maps at the beginning of each chapter are nicely detailed and relatively easy to determine where on the map your character is. All of the information about hidden collectables/parts/supplements is easy to find in the guide. The collectable info has its own section at the end of the guide that you can easily flip to if you're playing through and just want to make sure that you grab everything as you go. The collectable info is also shown in their respective sections in the guide and, usually, they're easy to make sure you grab as you follow along. Notice that I said "usually." Because of the way the guide is organized, instead of saying "walk through the door on the left, grab some parts from the office and Artifact #15 from the desk," the guide says "walk through the door on the left and grab some parts from the office" and then an inset says "Artifact #15: Roland's Fence Plan" with details on where to find it. For the most part, this is fine, the artifact's inset catches your eye and you don't miss it. But, I have had more than one occasion where I will be following along with the guide and the guide says "go through the door and listen to the conversation." I go through the door, the door closes behind me, the characters talk, I turn the page in the guide and see "Artifact 32: Something About Survival: 'before you go through the door, make sure you grab this artifact from underneath the table.'" At this point, I need to go back to whenever I manually saved the game last (because, of course, it autosaved when I walked through that door) and work my way through in order to get one piece of paper. So, as I said, the guide is very detailed and a great resource, but if you're trying to collect every single thing on your play through, make sure you either save very often , under multiple save files, or read a whole page ahead in the guide before you go through any door.

Firstly, I just want to say that yes, you can find all the information contained within this guide online for free. I feel like this argument rears its head every time I buy a guide for a game. But, as ever, if you are like me and still take pleasure from the actual physical things in life, this guide is well worth the relatively small £13 price tag. This guide has a nice quality hardcover, the text on the front is extruded (A nice little touch) and on the back is a small Firefly logo. The cover is the soft-feel matte type, so yes it may bring up your fingerprints more often than not, but it makes it nice to feel in the hand. And the smell! Ah, the smell is wonderful. I'm not alone in being weird like that, am I? Anyway... The Firefly pendant is good quality. The metal has weight to it, the Firefly logo (One on each side) is nicely embossed and has been weathered well. It's basically an as-good-as-you-can-get replica from the pendants in the game. The content in the guide is very straightforward. There's little to no introduction, and there's no extra pieces or art or words from the games creators, but none of that is a problem for me. The guide gives you everything in a straightforward and efficient manner, and theres little to no veering off point and talking about references or the like - It simply guides you through the game, giving you all the information about pendants, conversations, collectables, trophies, supplies and where to find them. There is a section explaining multiplayer at the end, which has some good hints and also has the map overview of the levels, so that may to be useful to some. There are also maps for the single player playthrough, detailing enemies and collectables, which I have found very useful. Overall this guide is a great companion to the game. I'll be sure to have this on my lap while playing New Game + mode and finding all the conversations and bits that I missed. Is it worth the extra £4 above the standard Signature Series guide? Absolutely, in my view. For £4 more you are getting a really nice soft feel hardback guide, with a well made Firefly pendant replica. Recommended to all players. (Even if you just want the pendant!)

Love that it comes with a firefly pendant! I only got it because I wanted it to go along with my limited edition of the game I purchased. But I do hear nice things about it. It'll comes useful for anyone looking for the collectibles, they sure are hidden some of them.

La guida strategica è davvero ben fatta: sia per quanto riguarda il materiale della copertina e della pagine sia per i contenuti che essa ci propone. E' ben strutturata, ricca di informazioni e immagini che aiutano il giocatore in ogni aspetto della partita in singolo o in multiplayer. Il portachiavi è realizzato in ottimi materiali, l'unica pecca è la catenina che risulta un po' fragile rispetto al resto. Un ottimo prodotto qualità-prezzo che è indicato a chi ha bisogno di qualche aiuto o consiglio e a chi invece è interessato nel portachiavi e nella guida in edizione limitata.

Compré la guía después de haberme pasado el juego por primera vez, para descubrir la localización de todos los objetos coleccionables y chapas de luciérnagas, además de para conocer las mejores estrategias para afrontar según qué pantallas del juego. El acabado de la guía es impecable, con mapas súper útiles y muchísimas imágenes. Pero recomiendo no utilizarla hasta haberse pasado el juego por lo menos una vez, sin ayudas de ningún tipo (así lo haría un auténtico superviviente de un apocalipsis zombie/infectado!).
