It’s a genuine product. These last a lifetime (of course silicone ring needs replacement every five years). Never wash in a dishwasher, handles can corrode (and replacement after 15 years might not be available). Hawkins or Prestige (or Butterfly) is a matter of personal preference as to how lead operates. Hawkins lid is non forgiving to slightest dents, Prestige (or Butterfly) is. Newer model (with dip in the lead to capture froth) is even better.

My two other pressure cookers are cylindrical and accommodate stacked inserts (so I can use them to pressure-cook several items at a time). This pressure cooker is a pressure pan, not designed for stacked inserts. I knew this when I bought it so I was not disappointed, although like other reviewers, I found this pressure pan somewhat smaller than expected. But it's a great size for about 2-3 cups (uncooked) of most dals. I like that you can prepare your sauces or spice base, add the uncooked lentils and water, and cook the whole thing directly in the pot. It also comes to full pressure very, very quickly. Overall very sturdy and cleans nicely in my dishwasher.

I had to return this pressure cooker as the valve kept spitting food all over the top of the lid with very loud noises and the valve never raised and got the pressure needed to cook my food. I was really looking forward to owning this pressure cooker, but it was defective and don’t know why they would sell a slightly USED and defective item when it is so dangerous. Pressure cookers can explode, do damage to property and also cause major body burns. I’ve used pressure cookers for many years and I know how to use them. Thank God it didn’t explode or burn me.

My cooking has become easy and perfect size for small family of 4 , good build and value for money

It is been almost two weeks I have used this pressure cooker. Everything works well so far. Product was well received ( without any damage).

It has good weight. Thick enough bottom but it has thin sides. Uneven heat distribution. Sides are staying warm enough to touch while the bottom is too hot. Food is getting burned in the bottom.

Good solid product, however after first use I the lid handle became wee bit loose so I had tightened it myself with screw driver. All goes back to assembly line quality control. Overall nice pressure cooker. Price is a little higher. :)

Product came in good condition and works as expected.
