Miracle Product
As a healthcare worker pulling long 12-hour shifts in the Southern heat, I’ve tried just about everything to stay fresh—and this is the first product I’ve used that actually holds up. If you’ve ever dreaded crouching down mid-shift because of *that* moment (you know the one), this whole body deodorant is a game changer. I use it on multiple areas (underarms, inner thighs, and even under scrubs where heat builds up), and it genuinely keeps odor under control for an entire shift. That’s saying a lot considering the combination of constant movement, stress, and polyester uniforms that don’t breathe at all. A quick note on the unscented version: it does have a slightly odd, almost tangy smell right when you apply it—but don’t let that scare you off. It disappears within minutes and leaves absolutely no lingering fragrance, which I actually prefer in a clinical setting. What really stands out to me is how reliable it is. I don’t have to reapply during the day, and I don’t feel self-conscious halfway through my shift anymore. It’s also been gentle on my skin, even with daily use. At this point, I genuinely wouldn’t want to go through another Southern summer without it. If you work long hours, sweat a lot, or just want something that actually works beyond a typical deodorant, this is absolutely worth trying.

WOW! This stuff really, truly WORKS EVERYWHERE. Worth every penny.
First of all, I want to bring up a point several others made in their reviews- DON'T BE ALARMED BY THE ODD SMELL of the product before you put it on- it definitely has a weird "funk" to it besides the named scent, but it dissipates almost instantly once you put it on to a very light, clean, almost imperceptible scent. More importantly, hours and hours and hours of sweating later (remember, this is NOT an antipersperant) you will smell ABSOLUTELY NOTHING. As others have also stated, boob sweat is real, and has a funk all its own- a little swipe of this under the boobs after your shower and you will never smell it again. Period. Ditto for any and all other areas of the body. After seeing the ads, I gathered it was safe for all the unmentionable bits, but other reviewers mentioned using it on their feet; for some reason, I never thought of that before reading about it! I'm on my feet and walking for the better part of my day, and winter and summer, my feet sweat and smell ungodly, especially if my shoes had gotten wet. Worse than I imagine any teenage boy's feet or sneakers could smell. I've used this spray and that powder. I've had shoes that are machine washable that I've run through twice in a row to kill the smell, to no avail... Sometimes if my feet got wet and I couldn't dry them right away, between the shoes and my feet, the smell was so bad I could smell them while I was standing upright. Don't know if anyone else ever noticed, I'm fortunate? enough that they never said anything if they did, but the smell was enough to offend ME! I tried a little of this on my clean, dry feet before getting dressed, and oh my goodness, I am not kidding you, NO ODOR AT ALL, even after one of the longest days that would have left them ghastly without the deodorant. Killing the boob sweat smell was one thing, but this was AMAZING. I tried the Clean Tangerine scent, lotion style- It does indeed have a strange, organic, funky smell to it besides the actual tangerine scent if you smell it in or freshly out of the tube, but it really does completely disappear within seconds of application. That's another great thing about this deodorant- it doesn't have an overly flowery or perfumey scent to compete with any other scent you may wear, and is suitable for women or men. It really doesn't have much of its own scent at all once dry, and it dries quickly. Best of all, you don't have a mix of perfumey smell trying (and failing) to mask real odor, a ghastly combo! This works to neutralize the bacteria that causes the odor in the first place. I highly recommend this deodorant, will try the other scents and maybe the stick type at some point, but that brings up another point- value for the money. You may think it's pricey for a deodorant, but a little dab'll do ya, and one tube will last a while. This was only available on Amazon as a 2-tube purchase, so I won't need to order more for quite a while! You really do only need a pea-sized amount in each area of concern for complete all-day odor ELIMINATION, (not "masking"), so that makes it a great value for the money. Worth every penny. Very impressed, will recommend to everyone besides my fellow Amazon shoppers too.

Toasted Coconut, updated formula and smell is much more pleasant!! This stuff works!!
My updated review, I have attached my original below and it still holds true. I believe they have changed the formula with the ‘Toasted Coconut’ scent, it actually smells like coconuts, doesn’t have the “lume” undertone of a smell like all the others. The texture is different as well, more like a moisturizer. All of this is very good, because I haven’t been able to tell any difference in product performance. I am very pleased. They have discontinued the sweet Lily I believe, but the Toasted Coconut really smells good, and truly works. So if you’re on the fence try, the newest scent. Side note, if you have just shaved or have irritated skin, it will burn, but the burning for me is few and far between. The burning dissipates within minutes though, and it’s only if I have just shaved or have irritated skin. I purchased the Lume for my lady parts, because of all the amazing reviews. The scent I went with at first was the Lavender Sage, it really is not the most pleasant smell honestly. I can’t describe it, but it does dissipate somewhat once rubbed in. However I would still smell traces on my hands, even after washing. Which I did not like. So I ordered the “unscented” & the “sweet lily” to see if I liked those scents were any better. Because the product really blew me always with how well it worked for me, and I really wanted to find a smell that I could handle. So when I opened the ‘unscented’ to smell I was immediately disgusted, and disturbed at how bad it was and will absolutely not be using. I will return it, the smell was horrid. However the sweet lily smell was not so bad, not the best but tolerable. Especially once rubbed in it is more of a light scent compared to the other two. Still isn’t something I would want to put on my arm pits, not really sure how people put this anywhere but the private areas. The smells are not pleasant. But if you’re buying this for private areas, this smells better then the reason you’re buying this product. If you get my drift! BUT once you find a smell that you can live with, this stuff is absolutely amazing for private areas!! It truly is! I am really blown away by its effectiveness. It works. After showering and I’m completely dry. I apply a pea sized amount on each side where my legs meet my hoo hoo and slightly towards my backside, it seriously works. There literally little to no trace of any smell all day long. I shower daily, so I cannot attest to the 72hour claim. But I was having issues with smell even just a short while after showering, and it really bothered me. So I was on the hunt to fix this issue. I highly recommend this stuff. And my thoughts on the smell of the product, most natural products do not smell the best because they are not masked with fragrance. So yes the smell can be a lot. But it works. So be patient and find the one that works with your body, every product smells different on different bodies. For me the Sweet Lily was the most mild almost untraceable and fresh once rubbed in. Hope this helps.

It works as promised, but need to learn to use it
Summary: Positives 1. It is better for your skin than cheaper alternatives. 2. It is not expensive to use because a small amount lasts. 3. It can be effective sometimes for 2 days and sometimes for a lot more. Update: 4. Applyed it for a jock itch, now it is gone, wow. So much healthier than the medications which actually hurt your skin. Negatives 1. Applying it is a little bit involved, and can take a few minutes. 2. One needs a special solution to wash the bad smell off of fingers. 3. Though the bad smell can be managed, it is still awful to experience such bad smell while applying it. Details: I bought a tube of no scent lume. Mostly because the only scent acceptable to wear for a man: silver spruce, was out at that time. I did read reviews of the horrific smell, but wanted to try it anyway. When I did try it, it was horrific. The smell was unbearable to me. When I would apply it with my fingers, it was getting on my fingers, and my fingers smelled horrible, and the smell would not wash out with water or soap, so I stopped using it. Much later, unhappy with other deodorants, I thought to persevere, and to try it again. I found out that after applying it, you want to keep from putting the shirt on for a few minutes. This is to prevent it from soaking into your shirt. After a few minutes, several things happened: it would 1. Stop smelling horridly under my arms( not much smell at all ), 2. Dry out, so I could put my shirt on. I also found out that the horrid smell on my fingers could be washed away with a soap and a light vinegar and water solution. It all sounds pretty involved, so why is my rating 4 stars, which is a positive rating. Well, 1: alternatives are either bad for your skin or expansive. 2: on the subject of expansiveness, this product is also quite expensive. But I use the tiniest amount of it, and it does it's job well, so it actually lasts a while. 3: how well does it actually work? I found out that in the summer, when I tend to sweat more, it is effective for maybe a day and a half, possibly 2 days. But in the winter, when I don't sweat too much, it can last a week or more. I had a minor medical procedure, and could not shower for a week, and it was still working. I was rather surprised. But as soon as I washed, my BO was back as strong as ever, sorry for that imagery. So I know it was lume keeping it down. So to recount: Positives 1. It is better for your skin than cheaper alternatives. 2. It is not expensive to use. 3. It can be effective sometimes for 2 days and sometimes for a lot more. Negatives 1. Applying it is a little bit involved, and can take a few minutes. 2. One needs a special solution to wash bad smell off of fingers 3. Though the bad smell can be managed, it is still awful to experience such bad smell while applying it.

Lume Body Deodorant REALLY WORKS!
First off I have been using Lume Unscented for the past couple of years. I absolutely love it. Like so many others have mentioned the unscented has a little bit of a sour smell when you first rub it into your skin. It completely disappears within a minute. Then it does its magic. It keeps you free from being smelly or stinky. It lasts all day and more without even so much as a hint of a bad order. I use it in all the places they advertise, thigh creases, outside lady parts, butt crack, under boobs and under arms. No skin irritation even if I apply it right after shaving my underarms. It drys quickly and has no residue. It’s a very versatile product, great value for the money. You only need a pea size amount. The 2 tubes last me for about 6 months. I highly recommend Lume.

So glad I risked buying this product.
I first purchased this in "soft powder". I got sick of the scent long before finishing it. Then I ordered the trial pack of 5. (Unscented was awful...I was so glad I hadn't ordered a full size.) My two favorites in the trial pack were Toasted Coconut and Clean Tangerine. After using them in a sensitive area of my body, I decided to order Clean Tangerine because Coconut burned a bit. I loved the Tangerine, but after a couple months decided to order Coconut so I could alternate month-to-month. The coconut still burns a bit but it doesn't last, and is bearable. Both work very well, and solved a long standing problem for me. I do like the scent of both, but it's nice to alternate so I don't get tired of it. I'm so glad I tried this product. Worth the cost; I only use a pea-size amount each time.

A love/hate situation with this product
I first encountered Lume on a popular social media site. I thought their ads were cute and funny, plus I really appreciated Lume's approach to B.O. in that they're not demonizing body stink, but trying to normalize it. Let's face it, we all deal with fire pits from time to time! I went ahead and read reviews from across the internet and people's reactions to Lume seemed overwhelmingly positive on their managed social media accounts, and significantly less glowing (but still generally positive) on sites like this. I posted a couple of questions to the Lume online community, mostly in regard to the "unusual" and "rule-breaking" scent the product was purported to carry, and that's when things got a little weird. Lume cheerleaders materialized out of the woodwork and swore up and down that this stuff was going to be a life-changer. I received so many responses, actually, that I wondered if they were generated organically. The gist of it came across as such, "How dare you challenge the all-powerful Lume? Not only will it make you smell nicer, but it will make you richer, prettier, and younger!" The pushback was extreme. It was at this point that I felt I had to try out the product. I've been using it for a couple of weeks now. OMG, the smell. I've seen it compared to dried spit, rotten walnuts, butt funk, etc. Yes, Lume smells TERRIBLE out of the tube. I think it smells rather like a dirty belly button after you've been out camping in the woods for a few days with no access to a shower. The scent dissipates quickly after application, but heaven forbid you put on your bra or shirt and get some on the fabric before everything is dry because the scent WILL linger on fabric. The smell (at least in my own experience) is extremely off-putting. I went back to social media and was like, "Hey, so about this smell that y'all were insisting isn't so bad..." and the responses I received were defensive. I was accused of applying way too much product and not letting it dry properly. Lume responded by saying, "We had to break a few rules to make a product that's so effective!" Listen, "we had to break a few rules" is Lume code for, "We know it smells horrifying but we can't admit just how bad it smells because if we did, nobody would buy our product." And here's where the love/hate comes into play: Lume, just admit that for an hour after application, your product stinks! The smell is gag-inducing. That said, once the Lume stink wears off, the odor control Lume provides is good. 72 hours good? HA, no, but instead of getting out of bed stinky the next day, I wake up smelling much like I did when I went to bed the night before. The lack of antiperspirant properties has taken some getting used to, and I DO NOT recommend using Lume if you're wearing clothing that comes close to touching your now moist (but not smelly) armpits because sweat rings are not an appealing look when it comes to women's casual wear. With tank tops? Oh yeah. Sweat freely and feel the breeze on those pits; it really is quite a liberating experience. There's a place in the world (and in my medicine cabinet) for Lume. Camping trips? Working outside in the summer? Yes. I expect I'll even use it this winter when I'm not as prone to sweating, but for general daily summer wear when sweat rings are a concern, I'll stick with my regular antiperspirants. In conclusion: The product itself smells AWFUL. The smell goes away quickly (unless you get it on your clothes, in which case you'll be changing outfits unless you want the stink to linger.) Armpit stink is controlled for about 24 hours. You're probably going to be surprised how much sweat your armpits produce. Watch out for sweat rings!

Best Option Out There - Smell & Longevity
I've been using all natural deodorants for years now. Lume is hands-down the best one I've found. It doesn't stain my shirts, it's easy to apply, and it lasts pretty well (FYI, I only use it on my arm pits). My two cents on 3 things: 1) Smell. I started with the sampler pack. My favorite scent is the Toasted Coconut. After that, I prefer the Unscented. The Coconut starts out STRONG. I put it on one morning and my dad commented right after about how I was definitely prepared to hang out on the lake since I already put sunscreen on. After a while, I got sick of smelling like coconut so I purchased the Unscented. I definitely prefer Unscented on most days. However, if I'm aware I'm going to be extra smelly that day, I'll use the Coconut to help mask the BO instead. As far as the stuff smelling bad out of the bottle . . . I honestly don't think either of the scents smell bad right out of the bottle. Coconut is SUPER strong out of the bottle. Unscented has a smell, but it's not a bad one or a good one. It's very neutral. I did notice a slight undertone scent that I wasn't fond of when I was wearing the Coconut every day. That was part of the reason I switched to Unscented. Sometimes, our bodies react oddly to things. I haven't noticed the same weird smell since I began switching back and forth between Unscented and Coconut. 2) Longevity. I haven't figured this out yet. Some days, it barely lasts one day. Other times, I can go a whole second day and not get smelly. I think there are a few factors at play here: how much you're applying, letting it dry before putting clothes on, and how much sweating you're going to do that day. I think one of the mistakes I've made in the past is not letting the stuff dry on me before I put my shirt on. I would hope that it goes without saying, but if you're going to be sweating a ton (nerves, workouts, yard work), don't expect a miracle. You can sweat through this stuff if you sweat enough. It's just how natural deodorants work. This is definitely the best stuff I've run into so far though. Also, if you're eating a lot of onion or garlic, be prepared to be a little extra smelly. You might need a Coconut scent instead of an Unscented just for a little extra help. 3) The condition of the application area I only use this stuff as on my arm pits, so that's all i can offer advice on. One thing I learned over the years using natural deodorants is that the start of your underarms makes a HUGE difference when it comes to BO. The best result is when you're clean shaven and freshly washed. Here are those steps in more detail: Step 1: shave your arm pits. The hair lends itself to capturing the bacteria that leads to BO. If your pits aren't hairy - persistent BO isn't as much of an issue. I shave at least twice a week. If the hairs get too long, I tend to be smellier. Step 2: Wash your arm pits before applying. With most natural deodorants, the goal is to create a sort of "seal" on your skin so the bacteria under your arm doesn't react with your sweat and you start to smell. If you apply it on top of dirty skin (skin that already has the odor causing bacteria there) then you're not creating a seal against BO - you're just . . . doing nothing really. You're still going to smell. Lume might be a good enough product to not need this step, but after years of washing my pits before applying deodorants, I'm not willing to give up this step. Every thing helps. Final thoughts: Try the sample sizes. Clean your under arms. Wash your clothes (turns out clothes I wore before I began Lume had some latent bacteria on them that started smelling when I began sweating while wearing Lume. I'm trying to remember to wash those sweaters and dresses I only wear once or twice a year).
