I have a High Grade II torn MCL with 80% or so and grade I ACL tear. I was in a wheel chair or walker all week until this came in. I literally could walk with almost a normal gate with this immediately. AMAZING! I have had this injury even worse many years ago and I've used full leg immobilizers, crutches, I have a neoprene sleeves, wraps, and a knee brace with metal stays to stop twisting or lateral motion, THIS PRODUCT hands down beats them all. This was worth every penny and more. The product: Tt's hella light, padded on every strap, the straps (thick and relatively soft for being sturdy and very adjustable), the hinge is robust and geared and has range of motion stops that are simple to install with the provided hardware. It keeps your knee open to breath or wrap for patella stabilization, and the hinge adjust angle for medial vs lateral pressure and to adjust pressure placement on the knee. Also the strap pads are rubberized to prevent slipping and it really helps reduce load on the knee OMG what a relief! It really makes a huge difference and has already (in a matter of days) lead to gains in recovery just by knowing I'm protected I've pushed harder and used increased range of motion. BUY IT NOW, so cheap for someone with a knee injury it's a no brainer NOTE about 4 stars: I rated it 4 stars in Pain and Comfort, BUT realize it can only do so much as I have a serious injury there will still be some occasional pain (nothing outside of drugs can change that....hard pass). For comfort; it's as comfortable as a robust brace can be...it can't offer the relief without being tight and restrictive to a degree. I've worn many braces and honestly this thing is fantastic...just wanted to offer some insight into my ratings

I will be more than happy to submit a honest review of the brace as without it, I could not walk. When my son gave the brace to me, it was for the short term as I was scheduled for a knee replacement 6 months from when I received the brace. In the meantime, I tore the total rotator cuff of my left shoulder so the surgeon decided I had to have a reverse shoulder replacement before the knee replacement, so I had two arms after the knee surgery. That pushed the knee surgery back 6 months while my new shoulder healed. Before my shoulder surgery, I discovered I had rectal cancer. Another push back. I needed months of radiation and possible rectal surgery. Lucky the radiation got rid of the cancer so now I am moving forward with the shoulder surgery in February. Four to six months after the shoulder replacement, I will finally have the knee replacement surgery. Doing this entire episode my Orthomen OA Unloader Knee Brace has allowed me to stay mobile. With the brace, I have no knee pain from the bone-on-bone status of my knee. I am a very active 82-year-old so moving around is a must. With the brace, I have that freedom. Without it, I must use a roller and only for short walks. Believe me, this review is from the heart. Your product is a God sent. Thank you.

The brace broke after about 3 1/2 years. It broke under normal use conditions; though it did get some hard use over time I had it. I did not wear it day to day, I only used it for hiking, skiing, pickleball and other high impact outdoor activities. I thought the brace worked fine. It did provide support and pain relief for medial osteo-arthritis until it broke. For the money, I think it was worth it for my 3 1/2 years of use. On minor complaint - the buckle system worked fine, but wasn't great. The clips were too hard to clip when it was adjusted tight enough for use (since it tended to loosen a little after being on for a short while). I almost always just had to use the velcro to fine tune so the clips weren't really a benefit. It didn't really affect performance; just a slight nuisance putting on and off.

You'd think companies would take their time to build something that's worth a damn these days. First try and it's toast. I found it strange that the adjustment tool was such a tight fit into the screw and that it didn't really travel very deep into the screw's head but I got it in nice and snug. I found it strange that it was hard to turn but figured being it's moving something that kind of looks rugged maybe that's why. sufficed to say it's utterly useless now and I literally just five minutes ago unpacked it. I'm pretty good at fixing stuff but I doubt that there are replacement parts for this so it's a total and I do mean TOTAL waste. Put your money somewhere else. Not here! I put it on my dads leg and did the adjustment while he sat....Literally the first adjustment felt so hard to turn I was afraid I'd damage it and decided to back it off while he was standing up and the bloody screw's head rounded out? WHILE BACKING THE SCREW OUT... ie releasing pressure.... WOW! Would it kill a company to put a decent hardened steel screw into something like this? Like seriously what would it cost yall to put a proper hex screw in there that won't round out so easily?

My 86 yr old father-in-law is stubborn and has had bone-on-bone knee pain for years he dragged his leg behind him as he walked and it was painful finally went to a Orthopedic Dr who told him that because of his heart he is too old for surgery and shots would not work so he suggested a custom made brace which was going to cost $1,100 and insurance said they would not pay for the custom one because it was not a result of an injury. So he gave up I looked on Amazon and after researching and finding the one that most closely resembles the custom one and purchased took two day to arrive via FedEx in the middle of the Adirondacks. He was eager to try it out, it came with its own small easy to use tool to make some fine tuning adjustments and in a couple of minutes it was on and he was able to walk normal again with NO pain. Extremely well made product NOT cheaply made…Finally a quality product the way things use to be made. Thank you

First off, I was sent a used product with zero instructions and zero tools. So I returned the first one for exchange. I have weakness in my legs and a rotation of my lumbar spine that have led to my slightly knock-knee'd right knee becoming slightly more bent inward than left. Strengthening is the only thing that will avoid this getting worse, but I also have arthritis in my knees and ankles, so the movement necessary for strengthening is painful. Thus the search for a brace. This supposedly was for right leg, but with support only on the lateral side of the leg, there wasn't really any support for the inside. The way it is built, it seems durable, but pricey. One good feature is that you only have to adjust the velcro once, then use a release clip to put it on and take it off thereafter. This is unrelated to the product itself, but in my return, I designated that my refund should be applied to my original payment source. Instead, Amazon put it on an Amazon gift card. I do not appreciste that. I pay off my balances every month, and them putting it on an Amazon gift card gauruntees I spend my refund at Amazon. That's underhanded, so I thought I'd warn folks.

So far so good. Pro seems to work to adjust outside of knee to unload medial part of knee with alignment adjustment. Con is they only have one siz fits all. I am tall and have long legs. Seems to provide adequate coverage. Hinge joint could be tighter. Been walking around on a sore knee for months. I fell and torqued R knee and finally sought treatment after it was not improving, MRI confirmed injury to medial ligament and meniscus. Brace helps to relive medial joint pain until surgery can be scheduled. I assume with doc approval I can wear post op. I have a custom made cti for left leg after acl reconstruction years ago. Years of sports wrecks, ski wrecks, MC wrecks both knee joints in poor condition.

I have two bad knees so I bought one for the worse knee because at 127 dollars. That’s why. The brace went on fine. I figured out the fitting prrocess quickly. After 3 months of use I was having knee pain again so it turned out that the brace had loosened up. The machine screws that held the 3major parts had loosened up badly they are buried under the padding at the central plate. I was able to get to the screws and tighten them up. The brace had torn up a sheet of plastic that acts as a buffer between metal parts had been mangled. That’s when the real problems started. I contacted Orthomen (a Chinese company )with an office in the States. I believe in this company at this point and dropped another 130 on a brace for my other knee but I really wanted to get my faulty knee brace repaired or replaced as it loosens up constantly. I still need the brace as my job is on very uneven ground so I can’t just send it back and wait on a replacement to come. Their solution was for me the customer was to ship the brace back to them on my dime then spend 130 more on a replacement brace and they would reimburse me. It’s their faulty product and I have all the burden I explained to them that I wasn’t able to buy a third brace. They should have sent a replacement brace and a return label. Simple easy… nope. They gave instructions on where to buy the brace but not one word about how the return and more importantly the refund process was to happen it made me wonder if they were just trying to get another sale. This could have been done easily like every other reputable company would do to remedy their faulty product That’s where it stands right now. If they learn how customer service is supposed to work I will definitely update this review. Until then I’ll keep tightening the screws up in my brace.

So I have damaged (again) my knee and the surgeon who reviewed me said an unloading knee brace might help. He warned that they are not cheap. I found a range of them on here and also other sites. It seems like a bit of a minefield of what to get and plenty of them looked exactly like this one but were much cheaper, but also had some poor reviews. This seemed to have better reviews, but is really quite expensive. Desperate to get something to help, I ordered it, hoping it would be next day delivery. Quite a shock to realise that it was a direct from China thing and took 3 weeks to arrive. When it came, it was in a very generic plastic bag with basic instructions and does not really feel like over £200 worth of product. I tried it and was not sure it helped, so took it down to the surgeon, who seemed to think that it should work with the hinge on the other side of the knee (it cannot work like that since it would be backwards). Anyway, the surgeon therefore basically said "use it if you want", which was not exactly inspiring. I have since given it one go and it may have helped, but I am still not sure. I seemed to have to tighten the straps very tight and was worried about affecting circulation. Hence, used twice so far and now back in the bag and may or may not be used again. I will talk to the physio when I get to see them and see what they say. Might have been rather a waste of money (and quite a lot of money at that). Time will tell.
