This thing is handy and fits nice in a pocket. Key for me was reading reviews that stated the end piece is flimsy and will break. first thing to do is tie a knot in the end. the there is no risk of breakage causing issues. just remember to do the math, cause mine starts at the 2.inch mark due to the knot ... so have to be sure to subtract 2 from my measurements. As far as the clip coming off, I didn't have that problem yet. I heard others had the problem so I drove half a staple through it, crimped it and used diagonal cutters to cut off the excess. It shouldn't fail unless the actual plastic breaks. And the little bit of staple stops it from going in. I have 2 of these.

I just wanted something small that I could keep in a desk and I wanted to be able to measure irregular surfaces and it does all that. I also lined it up against a ruler, just to ensure it was accurate and both cm and inches lined up perfectly. My (very minor) issues -- I wish the spring was just a little stronger, and secondly, there is a little pull tab that also keeps the tape from pulling inside the case. The tape loops around a slit in the pull tab, which is then heat sealed to itself (the tape). In my case it is offset (in other words, it is not even), which creates a little edge on one side. So, when the tape goes back into the case, it often catches on that little edge and doesn't always completely go back inside the case. Yes, it is pretty minor, but I also find it a little annoying that it won't always retract fully into the case, but that doesn't affect the function of the tape measure, so I still gave it a 5-star.

Good tape measure, ordered it to use for clinicals in med school. I like that when you pull it out the measure clicks in place so I don’t have to hold it for it to stay. Only downside is that it feels a bit flimsy. But it wasn’t expensive so who am I to complain. I would recommend purchase. I like that the design is compact and the retractability is nice, a button is what controls that.

It fell apart in less than 6 months. Great if you need to use once or twice and then never again. Awful for any other usage.
