It is an ok topper that came with two large gouges in the top! If I had bought it from a local department store or big box store, I would have returned for another but this is too much trouble. I just turned it over to the other side. As far as comfort, it felt a little firm for me, but I using it primary in a guest room

I had very unrestful sleep as a side sleeper. I kept waking all night for sore shoulder and hip. I had bilateral total hip replacement. With this pad, I slept well with no soreness in shoulder or hip.

I had shoulder surgery w hip problems. this was perfect. you sink enough to cradle you body but bounce up easy to get out. I love it. its like solid foam. not hot. seems to hold its shape. will check after several months. I put a lightweight mattress cover on it and not decrease height. Also had thicker mattress cover on it an no decrease in height. took off because of wrinkles. Finally getting some sleep!

First impressions: this is soft & comfy! It's unfortunately missing a chunk from the bottom/top (we guess from someone grabbing it too roughly while packing). Not quite a big enough deal to go through the hassle of returning & reordering, as there was no option given for exchanging it or for direct messaging the seller about issues. But it is disappointing to receive a damaged product.

Alternative Latex foam: This is firm only in comparison to memory foam. A good way to think of it is 50% firmer than memory foam, but 50% less firm than "standard" foam. Has a bit more bounce back (resilience) than memory foam. The packing slip rates it at 20 ILD (google it) with a 2.5 lb/ft3 density. My gut tells me it will last two years max, so I don't advise buying it as a more permanent solution. It is decent as a transitional layer on top of a firm base, such as springs. It will not stiffen up a soft mattress. Bottom line: buy it to soften a firm mattress as an alternative to memory foam.

My mattress made me feel like I was sleeping on a board. I ordered this, after reading other reviews. It is firm, yet soft enough to give the support I need. I didn't notice any odor. It hugs you, without the feeling of sinking in. Has held its shape, so far, without any permanent divets that I've experienced with memory foam. If mine ever wears out, I will definitely get the gel topper again.

This is a comfortable foam topper if you are trying to make your firm mattress a little more soft and comfortable (like me). Just be aware that if you are noticing that the description mentions “cool” be aware that is is not a cool mattress topper. I immediately noticed that the bed temperature went up significantly from what I had before which was a mattress pad only. I’m still going to keep it but I won’t be able to use it when the summer comes.

Legs and arms appreciate the additional softness. The topper was not useful previously with a hybrid( pocket-coil and foam), and an inner-springs mattress. This novel can now conclude!UPDATE #1: No real change from original opinion.- When tried on a regular firm spring mattress the result was pretty much the same firm feel, as the topper compressed under both the body-weights tried (150-185lb). No significant softening effect. When the load was concentrated by sitting up in bed the topper really had no effect at all.- On a hybrid foam and pocket-springs mattress, which had a depression after a few years' use, it seemed to improve the feel slightly, if not the actual depression.- Minor offf-gassing odour after a few days, none after a week.THOUGHTS: I wonder if a better bet might be the type of topper that has the firmer foam base-layer under the softer foam top layer? It arrived opened from the original packing, as was stated at purchase, but it was well rolled in two layers of protection and in a suitable box for transit. It was clean and unmarked. The size is correct for the mattress. Odour is present, but it is not as remarkably pungent as some reviewers have noted. There is a recommended 72hrs airing to dissipate.CONS: The product is unexpectedly soft. Very, very soft. Perhaps I am not sufficiently familiar with these toppers, but I expected more density in the material from the item description for what is, essentially, a soft layer of foam which compresses readily to nothing. It’s more memory foam than cooling gel. We are somewhat disappointed

Bonne densité. En espérant que ce sera aussi un produit durable car le confort est super pour les gens qui recherchent du moelleux. Prenez le 3 pouces et non pas le plus mince. Seul bémol: l’odeur toxique des premiers jours et aussi il n’est pas pour les gens qui aiment la fraîcheur car c’est peu aéré.

I like it it's comfortable but it keeps slipping off mattress?

I don’t mind a stiff mattress, but when the springs start to dig into your back there’s a problem. Enter the Amazon Basics cooling gel memory foam mattress topper.I’ve bought one of these before and absolutely loved how comfortable my bed was. The difference was literally night and day. I decided to buy a second one after moving and it’s the same comfortable memory foam I remember.Also the cat loves to sleep on my bed now. She often sits there kneading the foam through the bedsheets and promptly falls asleep. That should tell you all you need to know.
