Very effective. Great for the price. Outside can get dirty
These things are pretty extraordinary compared to other cold packs I've used. I need food to stay cold for about 10 hours, so I have a bag that's two layers of neoprene, not just one. I put one of the three ice packs in there with my food, and at the end of the day, my food is at least as cold as it would have been in the fridge, and the ice pack hasn't even entirely melted. I'm sold on these. I'm ambivalent about their usefulness for using on the body. On the one hand, they stay cold so much longer than cold packs sold for that purpose, it's not even funny. When my hands are hurting, I can have one of these packs on my desk and use it off and on for hours. On the other hand, they freeze rigid, so it's like putting an extremely cold, slightly fuzzy rock on a bruise or swelling. If I could find a way to keep one half-melted, I totally would, because once they've thawed out a bit, the gel inside makes them conform nicely to the body. On the whole, I end up using them even when they are hard, because they're just so much colder and longer lasting than first aid freezer packs are. I don't really care about the sweat, but for those who do, the advertisement is correct. They stay entirely dry. I see reviews talking about the exterior as fabric, but to me it seems like a kind of flocked paper covering, and my issue with it is that it can get grubby. I'm about at the point of throwing one of my three away because it got a bit of sauce on it and there's no cleaning off the stain. But at the cost of these ice packs, I could replace them once every couple of months, and they last much longer than that.

Better than ice, ice baby
This review is for the Nordic Ice NOR1038 No-Sweat Reusable Long-Lasting Gel Pack, 16 oz. (Pack of 3). I ordered these because we were getting ready to head to the beach and really needed a light fabric cooler for the beach and also some ice blocks. These Nordic Ice blocks are a great size for just a small lunch box or, as I needed, good when putting 2 or 3 together inside a bigger cooler bag. A few tips that might help you have success with these bags. 1. freeze them for 2 days before you need them. (we bought 2 sets so we could rotate them every other day at the beach) 2. lay them as flat as possible so you fit them in between items in your bag easier. 3. don't poke them with sharp objects and they won't leak (pretty self-explanatory) These bags worked great for us and they really are sweat proof. My son froze one of them a bit wadded up and it didn't fit well, so we just thawed it up (which takes several hours) and flattened it and re-froze it. I'd recommend these over ice any day. They feel sturdy and like they should last a long time. Disclaimer: I received this product for free or at a discounted price in exchange for my honest review. (you can read my reviews and tell that I do not just give 5 stars because of this. I want my reviews to help others determine whether the product is a good fit for them or not and I would hope that I can count on others to be honest in their assessments as well. The product owners want good feedback and sometimes that feedback is negative but that is how they continue to improve their products.) If my review has helped you to make a decision about whether to consider purchasing this product or not, please press the YES button to reflect that. Thanks.

Hands down, the best ice pack. And it doesn't sweat.
I pack a lunch for work everyday and I often find myself eating about 8 hours after I've packed my lunch. I've tried most products to keep my refrigerated foods cold from glass containers, plastic containers, freezable containers, icepacks, coldpacks--they've all turned up short. Nothing is more frustrating than taking lunch break only to find your turkey cold cut is a moist room temperature. Then I found Nordic Ice. Nordic Ice works great, the packs stay cold up three times longer than any ice packs I've used in the past. In some cases, they are still partially frozen 14 hours later at the end of the day. The packs don't sweat which makes them ideal for storage inside a lunch container. Going back to moist room temperature turkey, moist lunch boxes are equally as bad. Some ice packs I've used have begun to wear out, developing tears in the lining. Nordic Ice feels like its made of a stitched material so it feels more durable and I've never worried about accidentally puncturing the container. Overall, a solid buy for anyone in need of a reliable ice pack.

THESE WORK AND DON'T "SWEAT"
My refrig. died and I have been "camping indoors" waiting got my stimulous money to arrive in order to replace it. 1. FYI I have a several years old big Coleman cooler which holds ice in Arizna heat for days. But I needed something that would arrve quickly to supplement the coleman cooler. It was very confusing trying to sort out the small, short lived cooler packs. I had discovered these and they looked like they would work but then I realized they now sold TWO DIFFERENT KINDS. The 'old" pmes, as best I could tell did not cool as well and apparently :"sweated" as they cooled so beware. I did figure it out and have bought 6 of the smaller NEW ones that "don't sweat" and thus, are the newer designs. I can't even FREEZE them but I store them under the bags of ice and they stay cold a long time even without freezing. They also are more flexible and thus more helpful than the hard sided blue ones I originally looked at. Right now, they are operating well while under 90 to 100 degree Phoenix area heat. Thus, they would be very successful in most "lunch bag" situations. For some reason I find the flexibility very appealing -- you can actually warap the cooler pack around a solid object -- like a can of soda. The "new packaging" seems very sturdy so I am not worried about its strength and durability. Pricewise I beieve they are the same or less than other cooler packs.

Order direct from Nordic. At least they'll send the correct item.
Ordered these and was sent the ice packs with the plastic exterior. The "no-sweat" version of the packs have a cloth like quality to them and are more durable than the packs with the plastic exterior covering. Plus, get this, they don't sweat. This has happened several times and I just don't have the energy to keep sending things back. The plastic covering is less durable and often bursts, leaving a leaking sticky mess. I've never received the plastic ones without them arriving already damaged in some way. It's like they always have small little nicks in them and they last about 5 minutes before they're full on leaking. Do yourself a favor and order them direct from Nordic so you get new ones that last.

Gets the job done, but not sweat free
Being advertised as 'sweat free' I expected the exterior to be a different material; more fabric-like. This is your typical gel in plastic freezer pack, and it's going to sweat. The exterior doesn't feel very durable, so I'm not sure these are going to last very long. However, they are fairly thick, so they do stay frozen/cold for a long time.

Great, versatile, gel packs.
Great ice gel packs., These are the same ice packs they use in hospitals for injuries or post operative procedures requiring cold for inflammation. Incidentally, they use this brand to keep foods cold while shipping. For instance, I received a wonderful box a delicious, perishable items after an illness & they box was packed with Nordic ice gel packs . Everything remained cold &fresh just as leaflet insert promised. They also come in several sizes . I use them year round.

[TMI] Superior to the Blue Ice for Pumping Moms
[Too much information/TMI warning!] I bought these ice packs to keep breast milk cool and stable when I'm traveling. Sometimes the only storage I have for pumped milk is my travel bag or my car trunk. I love Nordic Ice. It stays solid (thus cold) for much longer than the blue gel bags. The bag itself does not sweat (but the plastic bag or bottle for your milk might). Even when the pack is liquid inside you can feel it's still cool to the touch. One Nordic ice pack and an insulated lunch bag can keep 4-6 bags of 4 oz milk cool for at least 4 hours. You can get a longer chill time (5 hours or more) if you use a Nordic ice pack and a good cooler. Adding more Nordic packs to your container can extend the cooling time as well. Choose whatever length of time you feel comfortable storing your milk "outside" before you can properly refrigerate or ice it. Most breastfeeding guides recommend 3-5 hours for milk to be stable "outside" of a refrigerator or freezer. I would choose Nordic Ice over the blue gel bags any day of the week. They last longer and true to claim do not sweat in whatever container you put them in. These are harder to find in store, so I recommend purchasing a few of them online.

Awesome ice pack
The pack gets rock hard and stays frozen for many hours!

Excellent. No issue of condensed water outside.
It's an excellent product. You won't get into the normal issue of the pack getting wet outside with condensed water vapour from the atmosphere.

Save your money. Don't buy these ice packs
After only 2 uses, there's already small holes in the ice packs... Considering the price of $22 for 3 small ice packs I genuinely thought they'd be more robust... It appears that the "reinforced" layers can't even hold up to the sharpness of the ice inside of them... Super disappointed.

These stayed cold. Great for camping!!
These were perfect for my 3 day camping trip. They stayed cold. The only thing I don't like about them is they outside is sort of a rough paper type material. It would be better if it was plastic. I see these not being the easiest to keep clean.
