I bought this mat to place under my half rack. I don’t like horse stall mats because they outright stink of chemical odors. This Gorilla Mat has zero odor. It is thick, durable and comfortable and provides a no-slip grip. It is large and perfectly-sized for placing under squat, half or full-sized racks and other big equipment. It also looks very nice in a deep gray color. Best of all, it’s non-toxic, so I can put it inside my home gym without the negative health issues of toxicant off-gassing that come with almost every other mat on the market. It’s worth the price. I am very pleased with this Yo Gorilla exercise mat.

EDIT 3/22/2023 NEED WARRANTY REPLACEMENT Mine is shredded now. Black dust everywhere. And it smells like murder. It gets near-daily use and I clean it as directed, it has never been rolled up or stored incorrectly, no pets or high or low humidity, not even sunlight...it's just wear. I turned it around and over and back to try and keep using it but it's done. Who do I contact for lifetime warranty replacement? My husband is an athlete. 44 but with 5% body fat, drinks these nasty protein shakes, never eats dessert, the vitamins....I don't get it. Ran 10-15 miles daily until shin splints so now he bikes 50 miles a day and when he can't get outside he does Insanity in the basement...the 30 minute Insanity because the hour one was too easy. (I do not understand you people. You're all loony.) Anyway. He loves it. I love him. I don't get it, but...ok. Cool. He uses those square interlocking tile things on top of a thin nonslip antibacterial mat laid on 7mil laminate on a concrete slab. As you fitness weirdos probably know, those tiles come apart with all the jumping and the kicking and the other weird things you do while being yelled at through a tv by a stranger. (But hey, you do you) This is the 3rd round of tiles in two years and I thought he deserved better, so for Father's Day I researched the crap out of these things and everyone who does weirdo fitness things and has internet access took time out of their protein-shake-drinking, nasty-granola-bar-eating, jump-push-drop-punch-jump schedule to write very nice things about this mat. It arrived before promised, in appropriate packaging, was lightweight enough for my smoking drinking 125 lb flat unhealthy butt to drag inside and hide in a closet until Father's Day, and most importantly, my fitness weirdo LOVES it. He said (in between gulps of protein shake) that it doesn't slide, his shoes do what they're supposed to (whatever THAT means, you freaks will get it) (I guess it's kinda a big deal because DEAR LORD EVERY WEEK IT'S I NEED NEW FITNESS SHOES my eyes glaze over just smile and nod) In summary, a 44 year old, 6'1", 195 lb lunatic with 6% body fat who puts so much torque on his road bike wheels that he throws spokes on 300 lb rated wheels...if he likes it, and you're anything like him, you'll like it too. Now I need a beer, just writing that was exhausting. Buncha weirdos.

I was more than satisfied when I received my mat and unrolled it. I loved the size options when choosing this product, so I could get the size that fit my space just right. The thickness of this mat is perfect. It is definitely an upgrade from the mat I had been using. The surface has a slightly grippy feeling on bare feet, which I really like. The back of it also is designed to hold well to the floor. I use this on carpet, and even though it might have shifted a little bit, that didn’t matter because the size of the mat was so big I still felt I was centered on my video screen. When my husband saw what a nice mat I now have, he decided to order one, too. I liked that there were several color options for the top surface of the mat. I would highly recommend this for anybody who is wanting to make their exercise as enjoyable as possible. Definitely makes a difference when you have a good mat. I feel it is helpful in motivating me to want to exercise more.

I bought Gorilla Mats late last year because I was looking for good quality mats for my home gym. I have been working out to P90X, RUSHFIT and Body Beast at home for years . I also have a full pull-up & dip station in my livingroom. In a nutshell, I was looking for a mat that is tough, build to last and provide enough support to protect my joints and floors. They are not cheap but judging from the testimonials I've read online, the mats are made out of quality materials. They also come with Lifetime warranty. I decided to buy two of them, they were shipped quickly and arrived at my door within 2 days. I'm glad to report that It's one of the best investments I've made for my home gym (right up there with my Powerblocks U90). You can tell that Gorilla Mats are made of quality materials the moment you lay it on the floor. The weight of the mat and patterns on the bottom-side does a decent job at helping the mat stay in place during exercises. They're thick, durable and most importantly, I feel safe jumping on the mats when I do plyometric exercises! I also love the Gorilla logo on the mat (See picture). I also want to give a shout out to Zach at Gorilla Mats. He was great at answering my questions. The PDF he sends out with FAQs about the mats is also a nice touch. Bought 2 of these. One was fine. The 2nd one smelt of musty like mold and was faded. 2nd one is definitely older, thinner and not as supportive as 1st one. Cleaned it but still took weeks to air out. So left a star off for 2nd mat. 1st mat is fine. Ist one is large size, supportive, nice mat.

Excellent product for home gym using dumbbells. Have used for several months and has held up very well. I am living in a rental and this will be very easy to take with me when needed. The feeling on bare feet when squatting or standing press is very firm. Highly recommend

I have had this large mat for about a week now and I wanted to test it before I wrote anything. This was actually my second order. USP lost the first one after it was out for delivery. Who knows what happened to it. So after I contacted the seller and Amazon I got a refund for that one and quickly placed a second order for this one. Sadly the 1st one was for $119.95 and when I came back to this one it had already gone up to $138.91 (not sure why). It was still the cheapest I could find on this size. Smaller ones 6'x5' were $146 and up. This one was larger, just what I needed and since the seller indicated he would refund, I just thought "why not?" the loss of the original order is UPS fault, not the seller. I have used it for about a week for PiYo, my apartment has carpet (which I hate) and the regular yoga mat simply did not help because it doesn't cover enough space, so I was slipping around. I had previously bought the ones that interlock but I destroyed those (really I did, I somehow kept landing exactly at the interlocking part and it just broke. So I needed something that was large enough for a plank and a good stretch of the legs without having to move around to keep my feet inside the yoga mat to not slip. THIS IS PERFECT! I put it 'circles down' (you'll see when you get it) and smooth side up. It does not slip around in my carpet, and it is not slippery to my bare feet! I do clean it after each workout. Now I did slip around the very 1st time I exercised on it and worked up a good sweat. But it hasn't happened again. I'm actually able to do my workouts better because I don't have to use strength to not slip around in my carpet or to adjust my position halfway so my feet are always inside the yoga mat. There is a slight rubber smell when you first open it, but it has since gone away and it's been only a week. Plus, like I said, I clean it after each workout. I'm glad I found this and gave it a shot.

This mat along with a few other brands sat in my cart for MONTHS. I read review after review after review. I finally settled on gorilla mats for 2 reasons 1. If it gets messed up they replace it! Say whaaaat?! Yep if you’re gonna spend $140 thAt is Totally a reason to purchase from this company. 2. They are a small family owned business. That’s very important in these days of big box stores taking over our landscape. I purchased an $80 mat from lululemon that’s total junk and no where near the size of this one. It’s probably 1/4 the size of this one. Is it slippery? Yes , but it says after use that will fade. Much like every other yoga mat I’ve purchased. If I’m doing any yoga poses or push ups or something I just place a yoga mat down for my hands.It is a sturdy thick mat I use it over carpet An it moves a little but I do tons of hiit work outs with lots of jumping around. I just place a 10 lb weight on 2 of the 4 sides and it stays in place perfectly. It comes with 2 straps so you can roll it up and out of the way. Oh yeah the best part, it lays flat from the 1st time you unroll it. That was a huge sell for me. My lululemon mat does not, and that is a total trip hazard. This size was perfect for doing broad jumps, burpees, lateral jumps, jump rope. Basically any exercise. For reference I’m 5‘4“ and 117 pounds. Support small businesses!!

Update: Jan 10th. I kept the mat outside for 6 weeks and that seems to have diminished the odor by a lot. It still has an odor if you put your nose right next to it, but the odor is not filling up the space anymore. Just unboxed it, Nov 27, . Seems okay. -Unrolled mostly flat. -Dimensions 10'x4' are accurate. -It does have an odor. I've put it outside for a now, hopefully the degassing goes away. -For storage purposes, the diameter of the mat when rolled up by a person (not the factory tight rolled) is 10 inches. -The factory rolled diameter is about 6 inches. But makes the inner edge want to curl. Is it really worth rolling it that tight? Does it actually save money for shipping? Will post an update about the off gassing after a few days.

Using this mat for bodyweight and jumprope exercises. Very grippy rounded texture on the bottom side. Grippy up top too. Big impact difference jumping on the mat and wooden floor, so it's good cushioning. It does have a faint smell when new and has a layer of weird oil? One spot like another user posted had an oil stain where the cloth is packed. I recommend cleaning it before first use because it feels really weird.

This exercise mat is perfect. No complaints. If you're looking for an excersie mat, this is the brand to go with.

I use it for weightlifting to keep my floor from scratching. It's just thick enough. Decent quality for the price!
