Can anyone tell me what the difference between the dc 2-pin outlet and the dc outlet is? i've honestly never seen what would plug into the 2-pin outle

The 2-pin socket is a proprietary configuration used by Dometic. The plug that comes with many Dometic 12v coolers is convertible for use in a regular 12v socket or the 2-pin socket. The 2-pin plug is threaded into the socket and is very resistant to working its way loose.

Which is positive and negative on the actual plug itself? There’s no indication

well, maybe the matching fitting takes care of that. usually also, the red wire is the positive.
