Interior latch broke off; outside panel has key lock. Replacement didnt work w it since we couldn’t fully lock door.only turned 1x. What is needed?

Where would i find theModel number of my door?

Good question. You can find a label on the top frame above the moving door if you have a newer door. Otherwise you need the information form the glass etching around the AW logo on the glass and the glass size (just the glass you can see and touch width x height) to determine door version and model. are there two parts to this, the lock handle and internal lock mechanism. will i get both. my handle is fine but the internal lock is messed up. thank

It does NOT include the reachout dead lock. The "internal lock mechanism" shown in the photos is the tailpiece that goes into the reachout lock, which I'm guessing is what you need to replace.

How can I child proof this latch?

Maybe not technically child proofing, but you can add a Gliding Patio Door Auxiliary Foot Lock AW part number 1997301.
