Pricey but good option to help keep me focused on the task at hand
This little cube is simple but effective. It’s easy to use and helps me focus on my music practice. There is the flashing red light that may bother some but as other reviewers have noted they just put a piece of tape over it. I like it because I can set the timer and the screen is really small so i’m not inclined to look to see how much time is left but the flashing red light let’s me know it’s still working. It’s rather light and there is a rattly thing inside which I surmise is the timing mechanism mentioned in the instructions. It’s a bit pricey for what it is but I like the 5-10-20-30 options. I did buy another timer with alot more options but find it more complex than what I need to keep me on track, this one is easy…turn it on, set the time I want facing up, and play music.

Wonderful timers!
I have violet and mint. I use them in my classroom daily. I teach Pre-K, so 3-5 year olds. My "time keeper" can easily set the timer and it's loud enough that all my students can hear even when they're not using inside voices. There are two volume settings and the lower volume is good for rest time but we don't usually use it. Both myself and the students have dropped them multiple times and they both still work perfectly. I have used these for 2 school years and have only had to replace the battery in the mint one time. That's probably because I forget to turn it off. The purple is still on the original batteries. I have the white and yellow in my cart for purchase next!

Works great except FLASHY FLASHY
THE BAD: I purchased this timer because I have ADHD and needed a timer outside of my phone that wouldn't be easy to ignore by swiping away unknowingly or continually snoozing. That wouldn't be easy to ignore when the alarm went off, not *unable* to ignore, not even for a moment, because of the red flashing LED light! Talk about a distraction! I got the timer so I could get work done. Instead I was fixated on the flashy-flashy thing (others in the "neurodiverse tribe" will especially understand this.) Thankfully, my husband does fine scale modeling so had the tools and know-how to fix the problem. He opened the box, snipped the correct wires, and no more light. Therefore, THE GOOD: It works like a charm! Very easy to use. Some call it flimsy; I call it light-weight. It's plastic and doesn't have much inside (a small cylinder that holds the weight, the LED light, and a few wires plus 2 AAA batteries.) It doesn't need to be all that solid and my arthritic hands are very grateful. Overall, I'm pretty happy I got it. Now let's see if it's novel enough to help me initiate tasks and stay focused for more than a couple of days... +×+×+×+×+×+ To prevent issues with it "not working", I "reboot" the timer by turning it clock side up. (If already clock side up, turn to a different side, wait for the beep, go back to "clock up" and wait for the beep. Make sure the clock shows 00:00.) NOW turn it to the amount of time you want and listen for the beep. Verify it's working by carefully spinning it until the clock is facing you. It should be just a short time less than you set it for, e.g. if you set it for 5 minutes, it will show something like 04:45 (or 4:30 if you're slow like me!) When it beeps when done, carefully turn the timer back to clock up and wait for the beep. Now it's ready for you to use again! (I found that if I turned the timer too quickly/roughly or didn't get the beep, the movement wouldn't register properly.)

Works great. Had it for awhile now.
Works great. Changed the batteries out a coupla times over the past year because this thing gets used. I never bother with the LCD readout (I don't think it even works). But the piezo device's operation is expertly designed by some software engineer. I suggest that the hardware designers eliminate the LCD nobody ever looks at it!

Really like it - one issue
I read the reviews about the blinking light. I don't mind that at all. It lets you know it's working and it doesn't distract me. (And I am easily distracted.) It's SUPER easy to use. I love that it tells you how much time is left - although that is small. It's really fun and just having it there reminds me I should be working on my project even when I'm not using it. I had one issue the first time I used it. After about 30 minutes I wanted to check the remaining time - I picked it up to read the time - and it tilted slightly and BAM! The timer reset to 50 minutes! I had no idea it would do that and I lost all the time I had done. The plus side is that to turn it off all you have to do is set it to the blank side and it goes blank and stops timing. I will be careful not to pick it up and so far I love it and think it will help me get more writing done. Can't wait to show it to me writing group.

great idea, But build is so poor, it doesn't function.
I returned the first one because it failed 80% of the time. The problem is with the switch that detects which side is up. Judging by the rattle noise when flipping the cube, seems it's a tiny steel ball that falls into one of six pockets to make an electrical switch close. But the ball, and/or contacts must be oxidized and/or dirty and so connection is intermittent. I flip the cube to start a timer and it doesn't. Or it starts, but then starts again a few seconds later. The second unit I received is not perfect either, but was better and, at least on the two timers I used most (1 min, 3 min), it might work 80% of the time. After several months use, it's gotten worse, to the point of just emitting random beeps. I took it apart. Fixed some poor solder joints, cleaned up some stray solder, but it didn't help. I truly believe the problem is with the gravity switch. Rather than trying to re-engineer it, I just replaced it with a TickTime Cube which cost more, but a) works, b) has so many more options, c) has a countdown display that is always upside-right, and can be read from a couple meters away at nearly any angle.

Great for timing smaller durations like 30 secs, etc. Perfect for at home exercise.

Was great...for a while
I loved using this simple device for my workouts, despite it's flimsy build quality. It worked like a charm for about a year, and then suddenly went dead. I didn't drop it or abuse it, it just quit. Granted, for the price I got enough value to justify having it for a year. But given it's such a simple thing I would have expected it to last longer. I'll be looking for another brand to replace it.
