The simplest engineering is often the best engineering. This is an amazing product. Takes very little effort to cut through mild cheddar. I just buy blocks and pre-slice for the week for sandwiches. Small, SUPER EASY TO CLEAN (MOST IMPORTANT FACT). Id give 10/5 stars if I could. Thank you to Westmark for employing competent and efficient engineers and product designers.

My mother had an old cheese slicer that I remember as a child. I found it in a drawer after she passed away, and we have been using it for years, but it finally broke and was unfixable even for my husband who fixes everything!! So we were on the hunt for a replacement on Amazon. Lots of plastic and ones with extra wires.....we just want one that has a wire that will last like my mom's old one. This German made one seemed the only one to be sturdy enough and well made. We've used it several times as we often have cheese and fruit for lunch often. Has some weight to it and seems like it will last and it's not terribly wide, which we appreciate. Time will tell, but it seems great so far.
