Seaweed Bath Co. Gentle Shampoo, Unscented, 12 oz

On an endless search to find a fragrance-free shampoo that I actually like, and this one from Seaweed Hair Co is next in the lineup! I have fine, thin, wavy 2B hair that is pretty dry, that I typically wash every other day. Sulfate shampoos tend to make my hair more oily because of how much they strip the hair’s natural oils, but sulfate-free can sometimes not clarify *enough* which causes buildup and other issues. I also have a chronically itchy scalp which some products flare more than others. I also prefer-fragrance free products so it can be tough to find a product that hits all the marks! This one from Seaweed Hair Co has been pretty decent so far after about 2+ weeks of use. It’s a bit liquidy so you have to be careful when pouring, but it lathers nicely. Truly no scent to it at all. My hair feels clean without being overly “squeaky clean” or stripped. It doesn’t really flare my itchy scalp. On day 2 my hair does start to look a bit oily so I wouldn’t be able to go more than 2 days without washing unless I used a dry shampoo. Haven't really seen any specific benefits from the "seaweed" or other ingredients, but I have virgin hair that's decently healthy to begin with. I do appreciate that the bottle can be flipped cap-side down when it starts to run low - I’m always surprised how many shampoos and conditioners can’t be flipped over so you’re wrestling with the bottle towards the end! Not the case here. Overall I would say this is nothing spectacular, but it hits my marks for being fragrance free and not making my scalp itch much, so there’s that! I’d be open to trying the conditioner too. One note: this shampoo does contain protein, which some people’s hair can benefit from and others won’t, so if you’re getting a “mushy” feeling from this when wet, or if your hair is getting brittle while using this, you may just have protein overload and need to switch to something without protein.

A little disappointed that i cant find this anywhere anymore even on amazon for the price i paid for ... $9.99 or around that. Now places are asking 20 bucks for it. I cant believe it. Ill have to find an alternative. It has been the only shampoo to help with foliculitus rather than using selsun blue or nizoral shampoo only. I dont wanna use nizoral every day. I use this or tsal also. Id rotate. This shampoo doesnt foam up. Feels like it wont clean your hair but it actually cleans it. Only thing is it doesnt feel hydrating. It feels like my hair is more dry but it did help with itchiness and head acne after wearing beanie or sweating.

I have been all natural since Summer of 2015, I threw away all store bought products and immediately started experimenting in making 100% all natural house hold products. None of it has been simple I must admit, especially replacing my store bought shampoos. I tried many of the no poo methods, I have tried countless all natural homemade shampoo recipes that the law allows, and still no success finding the right recipe for my fine fragile hair. Most recipes left my hair to dry or lifeless and oily. Some all natural recipes even damaged and broke my hair. I was just about to give up and go back to my local salon with my head hung low. Then I decided to not accept defeat and I started researching all natural shampoos on the internet. I indeed gave up homemade shampoo recipes after spending so much time, money, and effort over past twelve months, but I did not give up on using all natural ingredients. There are many all natural shampoos on the market, but this one caught my attention. After researching the product, reading the reviews, and watching youtube reviews, I decided to give this company a try. I purchased the shampoo and conditioner, and I am so glad that I did. I am so pleased with this find. My hair feels so clean and soft. It looks amazing. I did not use the conditioner yet but I am looking forward to it. I will definitely purchase their Eucalyptus and Peppermint Balancing Shampoo soon. Love it, love it, love it!

Let me start with the fact that I didn't buy this for me. It was bought for hubby who is INCREDIBLY HARD TO PLEASE....I repeat.... INCREDIBLY HARD TO PLEASE. He has allergies. Alot of allergies. So badly that he hates anything with fragrance. Meaning no perfume...not on me...not in our house. Finding a scent free shampoo that actually made his hair feel clean has been an issue. I bought this thinking.... it's another one he will hate but I was wrong. He absolutely loves it. No smell at all and he says his hair feels very clean. It moisturizes without making his hair feel greasy or heavy. If you have been searching for a scent free shampoo you can trust to leave you feeling good about your hair then buy this..... you won't be disappointed.

I have shoulder length hair that is thick with a corse texture. I absolutely cannot tolerate fragrance on my scalp due to a few spots of psoriasis. This shampoo gets my hair clean. The gentle, fragrance-free conditioner rinses out without feeling slick. This makes my hair feels smooth and lighter.

When this unscented shampoo first came out, I loved it - it made my hair so healthy and gorgeous. After a while they changed the formula and it didn't work as well as the original but was still good. I have chemical sensitivities and the fact that it really had zero smell was huge for me. Now they've changed the packaging again and claim the formula is the same, but it's NOT. It smells so disgusting that I couldn't use it. Not to mention that my hair didn't look good. It was all-around awful. I'm super disappointed that now I have to start searching again for a natural shampoo that's unscented and works.

Shampoo does lather in the hair. Condition of hair is starting to look great. Ends of hair still remaining dry. Will condition for this. Bit dandruff builds up slightly after few days. Assuming that's normal as the hair needs a wash again. Less hair falling out too. I'd say this product is great.
