My mother-in-law just recently started obsessing about the sliding glass door. Saying it wouldn't lock... (even though it did.) And worry unnecessarily about someone breaking in to the house from our backyard. She started putting chairs in front of the back door at night, which wouldn't prevent anyone from coming into the house and would only cause issues if we had to hurry and get out in case of a fire. Originally I was just going to buy a wooden stick to put in the door but I searched and found this on here.It's perfect. I know a few reviews stated it didn't fit perfectly to their door's dimensions but even if the door can be cracked open an inch or two... that doesn't take away from the fact that the door won't budge from that point. Mine fit in perfectly, I had to fix the screw into a different hole but it fits snug and the sliding glass door doesn't even move if this is put in place properly. I also like the fact that it looks nice and is easy to get out from the door. With a bar sometimes that sucker rolls or you pinch your fingers trying to pry it out from the door.

Easy to install; look nice; very sturdy; and do what they should - allow window to be cracked open while providing security that does not allow intruders.

This is a product that looks really good and is well made. Unfortunately I needed 2 to use for my sliding glass door. Using 2 is cumbersom since we go in and out of this door often. Wish they made it larger and longer - then I'd give it 5 stars!

I looked everywhere for window bars I could use with sliding glass windows and patio doors. I couldn't find any that worked the way I wanted. This bar is perfect. It is pretty but isn't really visible unless you get really close. It is adjustable which means you can open your window as much or little as you want. I am able to leave the window open just a little bit so the cats can look out but no one can force the window open. When we adjust it in order to close the slider, we are confident it will stay shut. No place is safe from someone who really wants to break in but this sturdy bar eliminates what looks like an easy route in.

I was re-ordering this product for my sliding door so I clicked the link from my prior order snd reordered. Unfortunately, they shrunk it and it is way too small for a sliding door now.

These are great. These will give you additional peace of mind in addition to other various security items you may have. They are built tough and have plenty of adjustable sizes to fit your application. They do not make the patio sliding door ones anymore. I cannot find them anywhere. They only seem to have the window ones available.I do recommend a patio slider one as a replacement option since they no longer sale them. Please see review. Thank you.

…that begin with measure FIRST. The device is great, sturdy and well made. My door has a…buffer? a few inches from the end and as such, the shortest length of the device is too long. I’m determined to use it though so I’m propping it at an angle between the frame and the door. Not the greatest look, but seems to work.

Happy with this purchase, looks much better in the sliding door than the good old cut down Canadian hockey stick! Love that it can be adjusted for the door to be open a little but still secure.

Does the job

Great price for the product. Easy to adjust size. Looks alot nicer than the cut hockey stick we were using for the last 20 years !
