Celtic Sea Salt Light Grey Coarse, Unrefined Mineral Salt, Bulk 5 lb

This is the best Celtic Salt and for the price. I've ordered it a couple of times, as I 've been using salt plentifully since my stroke & heart attack 3yrs ago (Ha! ..to the day!). Yes, the Dietary Guidelines our hi-jacked gov't has been feeding us for 115 years has been a fraud, to keep us sick. One other thing I like about this granular salt, is that it is moist and seems to be more savory with flavor, and I'm guessing it has more mineral content but, certainly tastes alive. I like to refine the salt in a Marble Mortar and Pestle. That way I have fresh salt, and only crush new salt every 5 days. This was a good buy, and a good product. Unless you can afford the Pink Himalayan Salt from Israel (that probably has depleted uranium and gun powder residue, in it) this is the best dollar value!

Amazing taste and amazing quality. Now that I have found this brand I will never buy salt again from any other company.

It has a rather bold, earthy flavor profile that I prefer. It tastes reminiscent of the sea. It is not a mild salt like pink Himalayan.. The crystals aren’t quite as “hard” as a pink Himalayan type rock salt. They don’t mill down to the same type of extremely fine powder, it is a bit more”clumpy” powder out of a grinder due to the mineral content, but works just the same and tastes better in my opinion.

The salt itself is 5 stars but it ALWAYS arrives damaged with salt spilling somewhere and I cannot figure out a way besides this to make a complaint or get compensation

As you might guess from my name, the word 'Celtic' attached to any product catches my attention, and this is what originally directed me to what I have come to believe is the premier flavor enhancer among salt distributors. I began looking for a replacement for the standby gourmet salt I had used for decades when each trip to the grocery store revealed a substantive price increase for the well-known brand. Disgusted by the ever-increasing price for what is essentially a readily available mineral, I put my beady little brain to work and went shopping on Amazon.com for a replacement. That is where I found Light Grey Celtic Sea Salt and purchased a small bag for comparison purposes. From that point on it was a case of love at first bite. This salt greatly enhanced every dish I added it to or sprinkled it on...from the initial chili and roast chicken dinners I prepared all the way down to "TV Dinners" and canned soups. Since that first spate of taste tests, I have purchased the product in 5-pound bags, then double-sealed the first bag it shipped in within a large zip-lock bag, and then further stored the zip-lock in a plastic tub to seal in freshness and keep it in its original moist state until I'm ready to either use it in a recipe or transfer it to a stone tub lined with paper towels in preparation for placement in a salt mill. (I can guarantee that you would not enjoy the results of placing moist salt in a salt grinder!) I have become an avid fan of this sea salt and do not plan on replacing it as I did with my old standby. I would, however, offer a couple of small warnings if you are thinking about purchasing this salt. First, and most importantly, because this product is 100% additive-free (gluten-free, non-GMO, and Kosher) this salt contains no iodine--a necessary element for a human--so you will have to find another way to intake the needed element, either by using a dietary supplement or, as in my case, just checking with the ingredients on the pre-prepared meals I eat to ensure I'm getting the required daily amount of iodine. And secondly, although I have complained about the increasing price of my original gourmet salt, this salt is not cheap, either. But at least they are honest enough about it to put the price upfront loud and clear and not raise it every other week! A giant 5 stars for Light Grey Celtic Sea Salt.
