Nice little alarm clock. I always like to have a battery one in case there is an overnight power failure. I like the way the volume of the alarm builds in a crescendo so it does not give you a fright. I find the hour and minute hands quite similar in length so you have to look carefully at times. The alarm hand is dark green and in low light can be difficult to see.

Great for travelling although a bit on the small side for a bedside. Looks nice though

Bought this after a cheaper 'non-ticking' purchase failed after a few days. The Braun is a lovely little thing - quite petite, but with a very clear display and beautiful design. Very easy to use, very quiet and it looks great - I'm very happy.

Shoddy reliability for a Braun product. It took two falls to die on us. Lasted a month barely. It’s really good while it works, but won’t buy again.

I have a drawer full of discarded alarm clocks which didn't meet requirement for one reason or another. Either the back light was so poor it didn't light the dial, or the alarm was too loud, the latest to hit the back of the drawer was the alarm off button, so tiny I could never find it to turn off the incessant noise, by the time I had I was in such a bad mood. Not a great start to the day. This one is lovely, well built, you can feel it's not a cheap one. It's stylish and feels sturdy. The back light is easy to operate, snooze button is a bonus and it's very easy to turn off. Oh another brownie point the alarm starts gently and gradually gets louder so you aren't woken with a jolt. Bit more expensive but you get what you pay for in my opinion.

Not a great clock ended up buying another alarm clock very disappointed the hour hand was off

A well presented and seemingly well constructed alarm clock that performs well.

I bought this because I was looking for a clock that was not digital as our current digital clock is too bright. It’s lighter and smaller than I expected. But it isn’t super noisy which is good because nu husband doesn’t wake up the same time as me and I’m a light sleeper so I hear when it goes off but it doesn’t disturb him. The alarm gets louder if you don’t switch it off which is useful. It’s hard to set an accurate time if it’s not in the hour or half hour but I think that’s the problem with all non digital alarms. Overall I’m happy with it as it serves the function well enough. It has a dim orange light when you press the button to see the time in the dark.

Its attractive and keeps accurate time. I use it as a desk clock. Its under my monitor screen. The black and silver colors match the monitor. The clock is easy to read, especially compared to the digital time on the monitor screen bar. The clock has a simple, retro look. It makes me smile because it reminds me of the analog clock on my Datsun 240Z many years ago. The clock is all good as a desk clock. I wouldn't use it as a night stand alarm clock. As others have said, its not readable at night. I think there's a slightly more expensive version with a continuous backlight, but I'm not familiar with it. This one has a button to temporarily illuminate at night, which seems a pain. Others have said its plastic and not worth the price. Doesn't bother me. It looks more expensive than it is.

Braun is an icon of classic modern products and aesthetics, and this alarm clock is no exception. The clean modern face/graphics is very easy to read. The size is small enough for travel — there is an even smaller travel version but I wanted one that is large enough to see from across my bed and one that looks good and substantial enough sitting on my nightstand in my bedroom. The silent second hand is well appreciated especially if you are a light sleeper who is sensitive to noises. The crescendo alarm sound is effective yet not jolting. You can go wrong with this alarm clock (so much nicer than any digital alarm clock) as it will stand the test of time (pardon the pun!).
