Perfect for storage not for driving
Great all metal construction and material that has some weight on it. If it’s not solid brass or steel then don’t tell me because I like the myth. Steel isn’t used as a conductor. It’s too light to be aluminum. I’m thinking solid brass based on finish and intended use. Pretty straightforward assembly that can be adjusted or taken apart to fit as needed using common ordinary tools. A regular size screwdriver phillips or flathead and a wrench or two. This alone makes it worth buying because everybody already has them kept somewhere in the house. I used a metric socket wrench and flathead. From memory, a 10 and 13. I took it apart and re-assembled it to make it swing in the direction I wanted. Fortunately, I took photos of the whole thing beforehand otherwise I would still be trying to put it back together. There’s a tiny little lip that forms an L on one piece. Miss that detail and you will think it doesn’t matter which direction it goes. Well it does. The wrong way and you’ll scratch your head until bald. The right way and assembly is easy peasy nice and speedy. Now for the fun..I installed this on a 2005 Jeep Liberty that’s kept nearly always in storage. After replacing batteries for the 3rd time something had to change. No I don’t start the car every so often because it’s not kept at the house. Out of sight out of mind and $150 for a new battery. After installing this bracket, no more worries. It works beautifully. We’re talking champagne and ice cream. Move the arm one way for power and the other way to disconnect. We decided to drive the car on a weekend trip. We didn’t remove this battery bracket. What for?! Well at 2am the car alarm sounded. It wouldn’t shut off until we finally disconnected the battery. Waited 15 minutes then reconnected the battery and went back to bed. 3 hours later, just when we’re falling into that deep sleep, the alarm sounded again. Same thing happened. We did this the whole weekend plus tried every tip we found on the Internet. Nothing worked. Took it for diagnostics and the mechanic said it’s an electrical problem. You think?! Because I knew that before I got here. Tired as hell Sunday night, I removed the bracket and SILENCE. This damn Jeep has a security sensor on the battery that tells its computer the bracket is interfering with the power flowing to the battery and it triggers the alarm until it stops. There is no fuse to pull. It’s an embedded sensor wire going to the car’s computer. You’d have to pull apart and trace the whole wiring harness to find it in year 2023. From 2004 thru 2007 Mercedes owned Chrysler and built them. They put their best foot into designing and manufacturing them. Today, I’m still amazed at what I find or don’t in this Jeep like hidden security features. Anyway the lesson learned from our alarming weekend trip is when it’s time to drive your car, completely remove this battery bracket or else.

Does what is intended
Bought this for my old tractor that has a parasitic leak, this way i just flip the leaver after use and dont have to jump start everytime I need to use it. Works great although a little snug, definitely needed a hammer and wood block to get it in position.

Simple effective design
It could be a little sturdier where the copper bars are mounted as they have some play in them. Over all a nice simple and reliable set up! I wanted one of the nice sexy push button kind but kept reading reviews that said they quit working after a short period. This thing does exactly what you want with no fuss.

Heavy duty battery switch
Too heavy duty for our small tow vehicle, a Nissan Versa

Easy to install, 100% prevents battery drain
Simple design, easy to install and use. One important thing to consider; does your battery location provide enough room for the blade to swing? If your battery compartment space is tight, there may not be enough room to open and close the blade. I'd absolutely buy again.

battery shut-off switch works perfectly

Won't fit in all applications.
Well built, works smoothly. However, in a Buick Encore GX there just isn't quite enough room, interferes with other wiring.
