Read the Directions!
This dryer is an exact replacement for the same model that I have owned for years, but thought had died when it would not turn on, even after pressing the reset button. What I failed to do was read both the printed directons (long ago misplaced) and the engraved instruction (see photo) that are molded onto the front of the saftey plug. After following the instructions that came with the new dryer, my old dryer came back to life. What did I do wrong?1. I failed to UNPLUG the drier and be sure it was cool BEFORE replugging it in.2. When I plugged the dryer again, I failed to press the Test button, BEFORE pressing the Reset buton. Failing to do so the reset button wouldn't work. Correctly pressing the yellow reset button first, caused the blue reset buton to click fully out and operate.Although I personally don't usually take the time do this, the instructions molded onto the saftey plug advise you to press the yellow test button EVERY time you plug it in. When you do this, you should hear the blue reset button click outward. Now press the reset button and the dryer should work.On the other hand, should you press the test button and see, while doing so, an LED, located just above the test button, momentarily flash, your dryer has developed an electrical fault. A cause for this might be pulling the cord out too far, beyond the red line on the cord and putting traction on the internal end of the cord. (This did happen to me.) If so, retract the cord to the red line and press test again. Hopefully it no longer will flash when you push test again. If it doesnt flash, it safe to then press reset and use the dryer. However, if the LED still flashes, there is a more permanent electrical problem. Then DO NOT press reset and attempt to use the dryer again.(My older Conair dryer, which I am now keeping for a back up, doesn't have this LED test light on the plug.)BTW, if you follow the instructions EXACTLY, you shouldn't have any problems with the recoiling of the power cord, even after years of service.Do NOT press the recoil button and expect the cord to quickly wind itself back into the drier. It won't. You must press the red retract button and hold it down, while you hold the cord and feed it SLOWLY into the drier. This means you have one hand holding the drier and the button, while your other hand is holding and feeding in the cord. It works almost every time. If it doesn't, and you have done all this, it could be that the cord was not pulled out sufficiently to created the tension needed on the spring that does the recoiling. . (There is a red mark on the cord to show how far to extend the cord .) If it doesn't work on a first try, just pull the cord out again, and repeat, being sure to feed the cord slowly back in.There have been complaints that this feature didn't work or failed to work after a while. I am guessing people were just pressing on the buttom and letting the cord attempt to fly quickly into the drier. It will, but only partially.Perhaps, this damages the mechanism over time.My new drier's cord recoil strength is just as good as my old drier. While I haven't had the new one years, I can't imagine it won't hold up as well. The only difference I can see between the new and old drier, besides the LED on the saftey plug, is the place of manufacturing. The new one is made in Cambodia, while the old one was made in China.

Great hair dryer!
This is the second time that I am buying this. The previous one lasted me for over seven years which I had used almost on a daily basis!Very durable, does the work, and is travel friendly (including international travel, given that it has dual voltage).I would highly recommend this product.

So much to love except that it doesn’t last long
Like several others I love this hair dryer for so many reasons - foldable handle, retractable cord, full power usage and fits my favorite full size diffuser. Sadly, I too have had two of these in a row that stop working after 8-10 months. I did try 2 other possibilities but I think for the price and all that I like about this one I’m on my way to ordering a 3rd one. Meantime, Conair - can you look into this issue???

OMG LOVE THIS BLOW DRYER! Retract cord and not super loud.
I had one of this exact model years ago and forgot how much I love it. I bought a tiny one that is quieter but the retractable cord and folding handle makes it almost the same size anyway. This blow-dries my hair so much faster than the tiny one I got and absolutely love being able to store it without the cord falling all over. If it catches when putting the cord up, you just pull it back out a few inches and push the retract button again, no issue. Be careful, it is powerful pulling the cord back into itself so can smack you with it if you're not careful! Excellent blow dryer though totally.

Great deal! UPDATED
I bought this blow dryer because I had the exact one before which lasted 10 years after being kept in my bathroom cabinet (used 6x a week) or thrown into a bag when traveling. I accidentally dropped my old blow dryer from about 2 feet off the ground while using and it turned off and wouldn’t turn on again no matter if I reset the buttons on the plug. It’s smaller than many others available but what I like most is that the handle folds and it has a retractable cord. This-like the smaller size-is wonderful when traveling. The cord isn’t as long as I’d like it to be but I understand extending the length would offset the girth of the handle it retracts into. When pushing the retract button, you’ll have to guide the last 6 inches or so back into the handle. It’s really not much to complain about and a rather small price to pay for the convenience of not having to bother w a long cord especially when packing/traveling. There’s also a cool shot button which comes in very handy when you need a quick cool off. It saves me from standing in front of the oscillating fan for a few minutes. The blow dryer has 3 speeds and does a very good job of drying even though it’s not a full size dryer. I have very long, thick hair and this dryer cut my 20 minute drying time by 5 minutes. I know it doesn’t sound like much but anyone whom dries their hair on a consistent basis knows cutting down your blow drying time by 5 minutes is extremely helpful. I was lucky enough to buy this blow dryer while on sale for $18.99. I highly recommend this to anyone especially those w small hands or whom doesn’t like to hold heavy dryers. Hopefully this one will last as long as my other one-if not longer!+ I’ll update w any pertinent infoUpdate: 2 years later and I’ve had zero issues w the hair dryer. It both folds and the cord retracts as advertised.

I love this hair dryer!
I had a Revlon hair dryer that looked just like this - retractable cord, folding, same wattage. I can’t remember when I bought it - it was that old. I’m thinking it was about 15 years old because I bought it at Target when they had just opened near me which was back in 2011. Well, it finally died. I searched and searched and finally found this one.The big plus with this dryer is the variable speeds. I tried out many hair dryers on my search. All hair dryers have high, low, and off, but that’s heat. For almost all of them, the force of the air doesn’t change. Low or high heat, you still get blasted. I have lots of fine blonde hair with a loose wave and a good number of cowlicks that affect that wave differently on any given day. When a hair dryers blows hard, it blows out the wave, sucks out the moisture, and leaves my hair with no body and completely dry and lank. Not so with this dryer. Low is truly low - enough that I wouldn’t need a diffuser - which is good because (1) I hate using diffusers because they make the dryer hard to manage and (2) it didn’t come with one. This dryer gently dries my hair without sucking out all the moisture, leaving it soft and wavy - exactly how I like it. The retractable cord works really well - in fact, you have to watch you don’t get your fingers pinched when it zips up into the dryer. The rear can be unscrewed for cleaning. Folding was a little stiff and took some getting used to, but it fits perfectly where I stored my old dryer. It’s my old dryer all over again - just a little smaller which makes it even easier to travel with. And it’s teal! One of my favorite colors. I’m so glad I found this.

Retractable cord sucks
Hair dryer is okay, dries my hair fairly quickly but it's not as smooth or soft when using a different dryer. My reason for only three stars is because of the retractable cord, or lack thereof. Despite no matter how many times I try, and over the year that I've had this, I've gotten it only to fully retract two times. It's not twisted, it's not kinked, the cord simply will not retract all the way in and leaves about a foot of hanging core EVERY time I go to put it away.

Great for Travel, with a Few Things to Keep in Mind
I like this hair dryer and, overall, it does its job well. It's lightweight, compact, and the folding handle makes it easy to pack for trips or store without taking up much space.I have long hair, so it takes me a bit longer to dry it. After running for a while, the dryer overheats and shuts off for a few minutes before working again. I understand this is likely a safety feature, but it's something to keep in mind if you have long or thick hair.Another thing to note is that it only has two heat settings. Personally, I wish it had a third option because one setting feels too cool while the other gets quite hot. Sometimes a medium setting would make the drying experience more comfortable, especially when you're taking your time. The only thing I wish it included was a storage pouch or travel case. Aside from those details, I think it's a good purchase, especially for travel or occasional use.

Keeping it simple, compact and tidy.
If you are a fan of efficient and tidy gadgets, then you will like this blow dryer too. Cord extends 5 ft., which is enough for me (considering where my outlet is located), but length might be a factor for others. Cord retracts easily by pushing the button on the side and near the top of the dryer . Handle folds up for easy and compact storage/packing. What you see is what you get (no extra attachments). This dryer is a reasonable weight and not as heavy as many others I have had over the years. Two heat/speed settings and a cool shot button are all I need, but others may prefer more choices. Has dual voltage switch for worldwide use. I ordered this dryer in turquoise/teal, which is a lovely, subdued shade (not neon, tacky or harsh looking). The lint trap isn't removable, but will be easy to clean by wiping or using a vacuum. Overall, I'm very pleased with this purchase for home use and I look forward to how compact, convenient and tidy it will be for travelling as well.

Me encanta
