Outstanding book for hospital based physicians
I've worked as a hospitalist for a number of years. It is a struggle keeping up with the steady stream of new antibiotics. I found this book to be an excellent summary of the indications, contraindications, adverse effects and idiosyncrasies of each class of antibiotics. The book is concise and purely clinical. The book will certainly not turn you into an I.D. specialist, but it will allow you to manage most infectious diseases that you commonly encounter in the hospital. I highly recommend the book to medical students, both medical and surgical residents and physicians who spend a large amount of time in the hospital.

Great general overview
I picked this book up as a quick overview for my Infectious Disease course. This is a great introductory supplement to read PRIOR to attending the lecture on that topic. I would highly recommend this book for those taking a course like this that do not have much of a clinical microbiology background, or if it has been a while since you have had the experience.

Extremely helpful
Used this book as a supplement to antibiotic lecture material in pharmacy school. I found it extremely helpful as it really is simple to read and understand. Each section on specific antibiotics is concise and to the point and quickly summarizes important information. I highly recommend this as a study tool.

Good refresher course for antibiotics
It's definitely simplified. Each antibiotic class is broken down into 3-4 pages, including short blurb on the mechanism of action, common side effects, and bacterial susceptibilities. There are also a few chapters on anti-tuberculosis, anti-viral, and anti-fungal medications. Several charts at the end of the book. Makes for a light read. Recommended for medical students and resident physicians who don't want to spend hours and hours on the subject.

Super helpful
I am a PA student and loved this book while on my infectious disease clinical rotation. I wish I had discovered it sooner, as it would have been great for the internal medicine, family medicine and pediatric rotations too. It is easy to read from cover to cover, as well as use as a quick reference. I was excited to learn that my program recently added it to the list of textbooks for the pharmacology course.

Great pocket review
Another book required for school, this will be a keeper. It's short and sweet as the title implies, and the authors even have a sense of humor, at one point advising the reader to "immediately forget this fact to make room for more important information." A great ABX review and pocket guide.

good overview of abx classes
I hate antibiotics, because of memorizing coverage, etc. I can't say this book changed all that for me but reading it certainly helped. I think if I studied from it more it would be really useful. Gives a good overview of different classes of antibiotics, helps you understand how they work. I would recommend it.

Essential for Medical Students in UK
Pharmacology isnt covered that well in the majority of medical curriculums throughout the UK. This book helps you understand WHY you are choosing an antibiotic. Invaluable!
