I installed 20 terrabytes of drives (5) and immediately all 5 were seen by windows. I did a 250gig transfer to one of the drives and it worked flawlessly. Very pleased.

This worked okay with most of my hard drives, but it wouldn't recognized some of the older ones even after a complete wipe, partitioning, etc. Overall, though, not too bad.

This thing is absolutely not suited to safely handle 5 hard drives running simultaneously. Upon receiving it, i put in 5 hard drives that are below average power consumption, sat it in my climate controlled office on a desk with plenty of clear air space and even a light breeze from my ceiling fan. Within 1 hour of transferring files, the drives inside were throwing S.M.A.R.T temperature alarms with my disk mark, with all 5 drives exceeding 60°C. That is horrible performance. The fan in the bottom spins but does functionally nothing to cool the drives. I had to take the lid off and put a fan by it to get the drives back down to below 40°C, which is the ideal temperature for hard disk drives. Do not buy this. It will kill your hard drives. It will cost you all of your data. I genuinely wonder if they even tested this thing before slapping it together and charging way too much for it. Its cheaply built, has low tolerances that allow the drives to shift around inside of it, and it gets so hot that it will destroy any drive you put in it within a year.

Had a Drobo 5N NAS unit that went bad, and needed a way to connect 5 drives in order to rebuild the RAID array and recover the data. This unit has 5 full-size drive bays, sets up easily and is currently chugging away while I shift the data to a new location. It is a bit noisy, but nothing I can't live with. Probably not something I will use constantly, so it's a bit of a luxury item, but it never hurts to have the ability to slam an old drive into and connect quickly, especially if you tend to do any PC work, or maybe have some old hard drives lying around from broken computers that might have something worth recovering.

The Quality of this ORICO 5 bay device is above average, for the price it is a good deal. The one drawback is that it has to be connected by a USB Type A to USB Type C cable, my computer did not recognize this device using a type c to type c cable. Since this was supposed to be a nice feature of this device, I was a bit disappointed when it didn’t work. Once I changed out the cable my system recognized the device and the internal hard drive, I inserted a HD and it does allow you to format the hard drive, in the event the hard drive you have is not formatted. So even though I initially started a return, I have decided to keep the ORICO device and use it as the added storage device it was designed for. FYI this device does not use any screws to hold the drives in place, and it does take a few minutes for the device to start up, so it's not very fast when first started. Once I got past the cable issue resolved, it was fairly easy to setup, the internal hard drives are easy to remove and install, provided your using only standard SATA type hard drives. There were no instructions included with my device which I believe it should have come with them, but no matter. One last thing the Hard drives do get very hot when in use for an extended time, an example of this is when you’re formatting the drive, the fan does not provide enough Air flow in my opinion, so I had to add an external usb powered fan to provide more powerful flow of air, and to remove the device cover to help dissipate so of the heat, so, it still runs a bit hotter than I personally like, but it is with-in acceptable limits. A redesign should be considered.

Oh Wow this works great. Had 3 old counters with multiple drives. pulled the hard drives out before putting them into recycle. Plugef them in device restarted and all my old data was available. Great product

Excelente dispositivo funciona sin problema ya tengo varios meses usandolo y ninguna falla, lo utilice para un centro multimedia çonectado a una raspberry, manejo aproximadamente 40 teras sin problema

the device is great when connected , but it goes to sleep which then i need to switched off and on again for pc to recognize the Hard drive again.

Me dedico a la fotografía y video de bodas y actualmente manejo un gran volumen de archivos, por lo que necesitaba una estación de acoplamiento dedicada exclusivamente a respaldos. Buscaba un dispositivo con varias ranuras para organizar los discos duros por año, y este producto resultó perfecto para mis necesidades. El material de construcción es sencillo, pero la funcionalidad es excelente. Antes usaba discos duros externos de 2.5 pulgadas, pero después de investigar descubrí que esta solución es mucho más práctica para copias de seguridad. No trabajo ni edito directamente desde estos discos, ya que para eso utilizo SSD y unidades M.2 de mayor velocidad. Si lo que buscas es un producto confiable para respaldar y organizar tus archivos, esta estación es una excelente opción
