A beatmaker loves it.
I hate writing reviews, but I felt that the Mackie was worth it. In the past, I owned at 1202 vlz pro- not ever turning it off for about 25 years. Yeah, I’m stupid that way. But the point is – the 1202 still works other than having a little bit of issues with one channel but that’s hardware that holds up!The Mackie profx16v3 has surprised me in many ways. I use the aux sends and subgroups way more than I thought I ever would. I have outboard compressors and EQ’s so I’m a bit of a power user but not a pro. I have been making music for over 25 years in that entire time I have only owned mackie mixers, but I’ve also owned universal audio’s stuff, motu, and Behringer audio interfaces. The reason that I bring up other gears that I kind of understand what sounds great, and sort of deduced that it kind of doesn’t matter what you have as long as it has a good noise floor as long as you can use other gear to beef it up. The mackies do with the new Onyx preamps. I looked it up & I think it was like 65dB headroom, it can cost thousands on other better mixers and be only 75db sometimes…so in that regard, another win.The crazy part is, I really like the onboard effects. There’s like no control over any part of them and that’s why I like them. They come really quick in a mix when you just need a little reverb or just a chorus or a stupid echo- I use it a lot! Good job on that too.The reason that I picked the PROFX16V3 was because of the eight channels of inserts. I love inserts on mixers because of the way that you can compress or EQ or put effects on single channels, but still remain in the mix. What I’m messing with now a little bit is that you can use an insert cable that has TS on one side and one TRS on the other side and route every Mackie insert channel to your multi channel audio interface and effectively make it into a tascam 12. … it can do that!I would love to have something like the SSL BIG SIX, but since I can’t afford it, I use this and with some silly pirated plugins on top of this, I sound great enough with the mackie. It’s not audiophile quality but it’s great. The onyx preamps on channels 1-8 can be saturated nicely! When I run out of them I feel sad when I just use the other channels haha.I would buy this again! It’s built really solid and it’s a comfortable mixer for my small studio.

Highly versatile, stable, silent
Crist, clear, faithful capture of source signals, good EQ, good FX engine for general use, stereo Main plus 2 stereo alternate outputs. All connections except Inserts are balanced or unbalanced. (Inserts unbalanced.) Individual Inserts double as unbalanced taps. One digital output provides the Main stereo signal. Mackie supports TWO stereo digital returns. (But one is funky to use). When using built-in FX, the Main output must receive the FX signal. The FX signal is optional to either or both alternate stereo outputs. Therefore, these alternate outputs provide the ONLY possible output paths free of FX when the FX engine is active. Thus ,to obtain a "dry" signal for digital recording with FX active, I had to purchase and attach (balanced analog) an additional small mixer separately capable of digital output.

Very pleased!
We purchased this for our Church. Right out of the box it sounded better than the older Presonus we were using. The setup and adjustments were very simple. Everything is working as it should and although we just got it, I am excited about how good it sounds.

Does the job
I bought this to replace an old mixer and it's performed very well. I like how compact it is and it has all the ins and outs I need.

No quality anymore!!
Amazon customers need to rely on quality products!! Mackie has worked well for us in the past, but this "pro" FX16 has inputs and speaker outputs not working!! It hasn't even left our studio yet!! Has Mackie changed hands? REFUND OR REPLACE IMMEDIATELY!!

works good smooth
Works good , smooth faders . FX sound good . love the fx fader . the assigned outputs are well thought out with the AUX sends . I really wish it was more XLR sends then 1/4 TRS but that being said it is still balanced so you just need to make sure to use the right adaptors and keep the signal all balanced.

Great mixer for the money.
I loved how easy this mixer was to set up. However, after getting up and running I find that it was difficult to resolve any eq problems that occurred in the venue because there is no on-board eq other than the individual channel eqs. I'll have to buy an outboard eq to really sound great. If Mackie had included a parametric eq, I would have given it 5 stars.

Quality of this product is fantastic...
While there are some differences from the quality of my previous mixers, several in fact, I am very pleased with the instructional literature on doing the install. The material is very thorough and I am looking forward to finally setting up a professional grade mixer easily. My past experiences with several smaller and larger mixing boards have been frustrating. Initial plug and inspection has knocked me out. I've used several boards for sound reinforcement and recording since 1980 with moderate to disappointing results. don't think that will be an issue with this one. I'm so confident in my satisfaction, I'm giving up my old back up TAPCO 6001RB. Thanks, Greg.

Amazing Product. Robust built. Very good quality

Buena mezcladora, sin ruido, amplificadores perfectos.
Lo mejor de lo mejor. Si tuviera controlador individual para cada salida (l, R) estaría perfecto.
