I love this book and this series!
I am a teacher homeschooling my 9 year old son with autism during the pandemic. This book explains in great detail and does so in a fun, easy to understand way. I have all the books from this series now and love them.My son always takes great interest in these books in beginning. However somewhere around 3/4’s through the book he does start to lose focus. It is interesting to him, but there is so much information it is too much for one sitting. He enjoys them more if we do a few pages at a time with conversations.Overall, love these books.

Great introduction to the sun (day & night) for elementary aged students
I checked this book out of the library and liked it so much I am going to order a copy. It's a great introduction to the sun in relation to day and night. I think it's appropriate for elementary aged kids. My 4 & 6 year olds both enjoyed it. Some of the material is a little too advanced for them, but even skipping the more detailed parts, there was plenty of meat. I'm buying a copy because I think it will be a useful book to come back to over the next several years.

So entertaining he doesn't know he's learning
We checked this book out at the library and my 3-1/2 year old loves this book almost as much as I do. It is a wonderful text that teaches how the sun moves across the sky, how shadows change, and how the earth orbits the sun. Well written with cute little conversation bits for fun. This is a bit longer than most of our bedtime stories but holds his interest and peaks his curiosity. The back of the book has instructions for making a sundial as well as other hands-on learning ideas. This book would be great for a classroom as well.

Science through storytelling
As other reviewers have pointed out - these books make science accessible in a meaningful way. The narrative works brilliantly (format perfect for bedtime!), telling a simple story based around key facts. Illustrations are just right, and the book itself is of a good quality. We have collected the series for our 5 year old who has thoroughly enjoyed them. Highly recommended.

... "young" for my 8 year old but we really enjoyed reading it together
I wasn't sure if this would be too "young" for my 8 year old but we really enjoyed reading it together, prompting more questions and discussion.
