Finally
I ordered this to revitilize some old 2AAA Mini-Mags that were gathering dust in a drawer. While I am aware that cheaper and better flashlights are available, I wanted to give more life to these old standbys. At one time these were the only quality 2AAA available, so there is some nostalgia involved, and I also have 4 of them.I had been searching the web for over a year for a 2AAA retrofit. I have tried and like the 2AA kits but no 2AAA kits were available, unitl now.The item arrived in what appears to be original factory packaging. The bulb is as pictured with the two prong plug. After replacing the old bulb, I found the new unit fit well and did not over extend like some of the 2AA retrofits do. The twist head fit snugly without the too loose attachment of other retrofits. The beam is very good, comparable to other 2AAA LED flashlights I own. There is a decent hotspot but with a great deal of overspill. The twist focus does not appear to function well so that the beam upon activation is what you get.It remains to be seen on durabliity and longetivity of this retrofit.Overall, I am pleased with this acquisition and will now use the retrofitted Mini-Mags to supplement my other 2AAAs for EDC.

Nice light!
I bought this for my single AAA Solitaire Mini-Mag flashlight. The light I own may be older than some of the other people's lights and this replacement lamp wasn't an exact fit. Specifically, the black-knurled base diameter was slightly larger than mine would accept. The bulb and base wouldn't fit beyond the internal threads of the rotating cap and seat into the reflector properly. I was able to file down the black aluminum disk diameter for it to seat into the reflector and past the internal threads. It was only about ten minutes work and less trouble than returning a ten dollar part. Once the pieces fit, the LED lamp works better than ever. The light is certainly more intense than the original, and being an LED, should last long enough to justify the modification time.

Good bulb, has design flaw
This LED bulb is a direct replacement for the old incandescent bulb; it fits well, is very bright & focusing works well. However, there is a design flaw - my old Minimag shuts off by screwing in the head of the flashlight. This motion put a rotational force on the disc portion of the Tektite bulb. The only thing holding the LED bulb in place is the 2 plug-in wires on the bottom of the disc. The wire connection is not sufficiently strong to withstand this force, and 1 wire broke off. On my 2nd Tektite bulb, I used double stick tape between the flashlight and the bottom of the disc, and lubed the top of the disc. So far, so good, but it remains to be seen if this fix will hold up.

A good alternative to buying a new LED Maglite
This product works well and provides a huge boost in the output of the original AAA Maglite. With some of the products from China these days, it's hard to justify upgrading an original Maglite, but it does keep my USA Made product viable. Had to say if the upgrade was cost effective, vice buying a new LED Maglite. But I'm happy with the upgrade. The On-Off mechanism is a little quirky since I installed this upgrade, but it still works.

Give your old mini mag a new life
Bought this to upgrade a AAA mini maglight that I was awarded for safe driving. Pretty much useless with the old incandescent bulb for anything but using your keys at night. After the 5 minute conversion you have a very pratical torch that will light your path on a dark winter night. I gave it to my wife who uses it every night going to her car after work.

Works great, just pop it in!
In the 2-AAA flashlight (5" long) when it turns on the lens is at tight focus, and spreads as you continue turning. Since I use the tight focus most, that's just fine. The light is bluer than the xenon bulb, which is to be expected, but also brighter. Sure, I could have bought a whole new light for about $15, but didn't want to just waste my old one.

I like the upgrade kit
I like the upgrade kit, but one can buy a new led flashlight for about the price of this upgrade. But the upgrade does everything advertised.

Nice and Bright
This thing is cool. Doesn't hinder functionality in the least. Super bright and nice focused light. You do have to have the prongs connected correctly. I inserted mine wrong and thought I had a defective one. I turned it around and it worked fine. These things are spendy ($15 at time of purchase), but I have a Maglite that fits in a pouch with a Swiss Army Knife and I wanted to keep the set together.
