Worked When Nothing Else Has
I have a 4 year old English Bulldog with severe demodectic mange that we have been battling a majority of his lifetime. He is covered head to tail, chest, and all 4 feet. His chest has been bald for most of his life, and we now must shave his back every 2 weeks. We've used every prescription medication on the market over his lifetime. He's on a special diet, gets fish oil and yogurt with his food. He has been on daily doses of Ivermectin, and a 7 day run of antibiotics and anti-fungals once a month since he was about 6 months old, but his mange has only gotten worse. The antibiotics and anti-fungals have stopped working, so the vet decided it was useless to continue a treatment that doesn't work. We've been using prescription Sulfur shampoo from our vet for 3 years, but it really hasn't made much of a difference. His skin has remained a mess, and each morning I have to clear dried pus from the postules with a peroxide mix. His mange is so severe it has only gotten worse as he has aged, and the treatments that were working in the past are no longer successful. Amitraz dips have been our only option lately, and even those only seem to make a small difference. When I heard about Xylecide from a breeder I decided it was worth it to give it a try. I've tried other brands of antibacterial/anti-fungal shampoos with no luck, but I'm willing to try anything at this point. I'm happy to say after ONE use the Xylecide worked in ways none of the other sulfer or medicated shampoos have. My bulldog's skin is DRY. The postules did not crust over with pus again. He did still have a "musty" smell to him, but the yeast/bacterial smell was gone. I waited a day and gave him a second bath in the Xylecide that morning. By the afternoon the smell was completely gone, and within a couple days the postules were beginning to clear! The bright red skin on his bare chest has returned to normal. He is no longer running a fever, and I can tell he is already feeling much better. Instead of spending a majority of the day sleeping because he feels so horrible he is doing things I haven't seen him do in over a year such as wanting to go outside with the family to run around the farm while my daughter plays. One week of use, and Xylecide has made a world of difference! Our vet is also amazed at the difference one week of Xylecide baths has made. We're both sold, and I'll continue to use Xylecide on him because we finally have something that is not only working but $40 cheaper than the stuff from the vet that doesn't work!

Removes dead skin debris/residue!
So far, so good! I’ve only used once but it seems to have cleaned dirt and residue off dog better than other shampoos: he has a couple spots that appear to be ringworm on his belly and they looked slightly better after one use. He just had a bath less than a week ago and looked clean so I was a little shocked when I saw the visible grime this had removed! Only time will tell if this is a keeper but so far, I’m impressed!

Best shampoo I've ever used
My dog has a fish allergy, so he's deficient in Omega 3's, so he has dandruff. This shampoo stopped it completely with one bath. No scent, which is a bonus for both of us. Removed one star because the cap broke. His coat is soft and clean.

Helped one dog but not the other
It smells good like bubble gum, and it has a really nice lather. I have two dogs one is a chiweenie and the other is a rat terrier. I gave my chiweenie a bath and afterwards his hair was very soft and fluffy and for the most part he stopped itching, he did have an occasional itch but he is 95% better. As for my rat terrier it didn't seem to help him at all so I'm assuming he may have a different kind of allergy of some sort going on. So with that I still gave it 5 stars as it did help one of my boys, also it was only the first bath using the product, so we will see what happens on the next bath. Overall yes I would recommend this product. Update both of boys are not itching at all anymore, I can't believe it they were so miserable and so was I, and now no itching at all, lol we are all so happy, thankful and grateful, this product really works.

On the fence about effectiveness
I have used Happy Jack products in the past with great success. However, this one did not meet my needs. My dog constantly itching and licking himself. I used the mange medicine treatment, and it was like a miracle but smelled awful. My dog stopped scratching and hair started to grow back within 2-3 days. So purchased this as maintenance treatment. It didn't really have any smell to it in my opinion. It was thicker than I would like, more like a conditioner and did not latter very well. So you will use more product. It was easy to apply and cleaned him very well. Once dry, my dog was scratching like crazy. I applied coconut oil and it seemed control the itching. I am still on the fence as to whether this was worth the money. I will update after his next bath.

Gave our dog some relief from itching and scratching.
It works, but depending on the severity of the dog's problem you may have to keep shampooing the pup every week for a while. Our old Lab/Pointer mix had an itching problem, and this shampoo gave him some relief until we could get him to the vet. Also, this stuff is like a thick gel, and hard to get out of the bottle dispenser. We just took the cap off at first, and later added a little water to the remaining shampoo so it would flow better. It's a tad expensive, but our dog is worth it. He's an excellent watch dog, and doesn't miss a thing. Bottom line, we can recommend this over other products we have used. It works like it says it does, and in the end that's what matters.

Love this product,but..
Worked after one use for my border collie mix with horrible grass allergies. Wouldn’t use any other product! Ordered prior with no issues but this time the lid was cracked and it leaked inside the box. Product is awesome though!
