Life saver!!
Iโm writing this review many months later. I want to say the quality is amazing. Itโs an investment but I havenโt had to replace it at all and it helps when I need it. Assembly was very easy, set up is easy. Itโs confusing but trust me just watch the YouTube videos! Is perfect in a pinch and TNR prefers these cages since itโs 2 sided. The only complaint I have isnโt really applicable, but be aware you WILL have to get creative if you are rescuing lightweight animals, like those who are weak or perhaps kittens. My first attempt with kitten was a fail, his weight didnโt trigger the mechanism. I also had to capture his mother. My solution was cracking my garage, and placing the loaded trap in the back of it. I used my laptop and phone to make a Google meeting/FaceTime type video call to see if theyโd go back there. They did! Then immediately shut the small cracked garage door with my fob. Mom set off the trap and baby ran around my garage but needless to say, they were both fixed and treated. Mom didnโt qualify so she was TNR. baby was adopted through shelter. This had been long coming, I wasnโt able to capture mom her previous pregnancy. Absolutely worth the money and have caught a few more cats with it since. Most importantly, they were safe. No injury. Plate at the top prevents injury if they swipe. You can safely release wildlife if they get inside. So awesome, Iโm so grateful. Thank you!

good quality-great investment
This is exactly what is required for our local Feral cat TNR program. It is humane and easy to set. I had no problem trapping cats and with the cover I purchased separately on Amazon, the cats remained calm. The cage is well made and sturdy- excellent quality. I have had it for about a year and have trapped at least two dozen feral cats with no issue. It is not cheap, but it isnโt cheaply made. Totally worth the cost and investment.

Best Humane Trap Iโve Used
I own three of these traps, and theyโre the best Iโve ever used. Theyโre very easy to set up and use, made with durable, high-quality materials, and the size is just right. Most importantly, they let you safely capture animals without harming them. I highly recommend them.

This is the live trap to have...
I have many feral cats in my area. In Sept / Oct 2024 I was able to call upon a TNR organization to help me stop the madness of more and more little kittens. Adorable as they are, it was out of hand. The traps we used were a couple of these and it was perfect. I had purchased one of those hard snap traps and found out how dangerous they could be to the cats or other small animals and immediately threw it out. I want to help them, not harm them. We managed to capture and spay or neuter 15 cats and kittens and were able to find homes for 5 kittens, which was a huge win and this trap didn't hurt any of them!! I recently bought one for myself so I can have it on hand in case I need to trap an injured or ailing cat. I highly recommend this trap or a bigger one, if needed, vs one of those snap shut traps that could harm them. These cost a bit more, but are worth it in the long run.

Trap and fix
Very top capture cage. I have been working with an amazing group of people tending to neuter/spay ferals for 7 years. This trap is by far the easiest to load, set, create anesthesia and recover for release or in many cases fostering for secure homes. I has used similar for capturing possums, and raccoons for relocation. Best ever trap, smooth and coated metal make cleaning so easy and sanitary for next event

Easy to understand and use trap
I bought two different brands of trap years ago and could never figure them out. I stored them, tried watching videos, was still unsuccessful, so just threw them away. So, when I was shopping for a new one, I was trying to find one easy to understand and chose the TruCatch. This trap is amazing, I love it! There's a rod on the side that makes the thing the animal step inside go up or down. To set it, you open the door by lifting the metal circle things, then balance that rod. Before you use it, you might want to watch a 5-minute video or something, but I promise, once you get it, you'll think oh my goodness, that's super simple! So, a feral cat had kittens on my patio yesterday and I couldn't get near them. Last night I set up the trap out there for a few hours. I didn't catch her, but I think the reason why is I only put food at the very end. Today, after going back to the instructions, I placed a little food at the entrance, then a little food inside, then more food at the very end. I caught her within 30 minutes. The door closes quickly but it doesn't slam down with such force that it would hurt the cat. This would be ideal for catching them and taking them directly to be spayed or neutered. However, this is not that situation this time as she has 5 kittens, so I brought them all in and set them up safely in a room. At least, they can be safe, cool (I'm in AZ and it's 117 degrees outside), and have plenty of food and water. Although, some people claim ferals can't be socialized, I've had luck with it in the past. I'm going to try. Even if I fail, at least all those kittens will be very well socialized to humans and I can adopt them out and get mom spayed after they're weaned. There is NO way I would have been able to catch her without this trap. I would highly recommend buying this trap!

Great trap.
I love this trap. This size is great for kittens and smaller cats. I was asked to help trap a Mama Cat and five kittens. I get so concerned about those spring type box traps maybe hurting a kitten if one goes on the trip plate and another is farther back by the door. OMG. This trap door comes down quickly but not hard. And quiet. I got two kittens about 6 to 8 weeks old in the trap, one following the other in. I donโt know if a very tiny kitten would have enough weight to trip the plate but one could prop the door with a water bottle on a string and pull when kitten is in. I also love the way the back door slides up and down because it's easy to set food in or release an animal if you had to. I was so impressed, I ordered the Fat Cat model. Wish Amazon would start to carry the transfer cage that goes with these traps. The trap is sturdy, powder coated I think, and will last a long time. One should read the instructions especially about not using the latch on the rear door to lift the trap or you could accidentally open the door. It does have a removable latch that reminds me of a key ring. This locks the rear door. I will find a sturdier one. I see why the TNR people like these gravity traps.

Tru catch 30LDT - The best trap on the market for small animals
All gravity trip points for animal protection, nothing to slam shut under spring load. These are the same traps used by our Humane Society TNR program that is why I chose these. Heavily built with what appears to be high carbon steel rod. The mesh used to skin the frame is very heavy and will protect the captured animal from predators which may be seeking it. Dogs would not be able to penetrate this cage. Bobcat entry, I am uncertain, a bear could. There are two access points for the animal. The first photo shows the exit. Just lift the bar and the gate raises straight up. Makes it very easy to transfer the animal to another holding pen or to another trap. With the gate raising straight up the animal is blocked from coming straight back at you, at least with cats. A raccoons may climb up it, but, if you are inside a vehicle, you can put a string on the lift bar, open the exit gate and still be safe. Another exit method is to flip the trap upside down, the trapdoor will fall open under gravity, so turning the trap upside down will release the animal. The two rings keep the door from being opened once tripped. These are really great, well thought out traps, and built with exceptional materials and techniques, you can't go wrong putting your money or hopes in these traps
