Old Boy Volume 3

Old Boy, Volume 3 lets loose a few more secrets. I won't get into them in detail here, but Goto meets the man who locked him up and gets a clue as to what part of his life his opponent comes from. There's more palace intrigue, with a boxing scene and a few sex scenes. This is definitely not a manga for children. It's violent and explicit.The artwork, pacing, detail and story of this manga are simply superior to most of what I've read in any country. I'm reminded of Manara and Moebius, Philip K. Dick and Stanislaw Lem, John Woo and Quentin Tarantino. The eight-volume collection will probably run me as much as a 20-volume box set of other series, but it's worth it. This is awesome, purely awesome. Read it. *****

If you're a big fan of this Cannes Film Festival award winner, you'll want to look into the text inspiration behind the movie that could have won the Palme d'Or of that year--had it not been with the Bush Derangement Syndrome zeitgeist that was Fahrenheit 9-11! But politics aside, if you love high brow Asian extreme--and the manga that inspired it, you can't got wrong with this 3rd volume!

one of my fav mangas/movie. an absolute gem. well worth a read. shame their isnt just a complete works though xxx
