Good value for money

I've had this for nearly two years now, and it's still going well. Almost half the price of the identical Stihl badged offering. Could be a little bit more robust, but for the money, it's fine.

Small and easy to store. This meter works well and has several seating for Wood/plaster etc. Good value for excellent for occasional home DIY use

Having access to a large amount of oak logs, I wanted to find out about their moisture content. Our woodburner had it's pre-winter sweep and lots of potentially flammable tar was found in the chimney flue -- a sure signal our other supply had not been below the limit of 12% for moisture content (ie not fully seasoned). So I have to build an outside storage unit and let this oak stand with air circulation for perhaps 12 months. So it need to take regular random readings to watch it's progress. This somewhat flimsy little unit would spike into some softer wood, but because this oak is nearly as hard as iron, I felt I daren't press any harder on the spikes, so all I managed to get was 0% every time. Sorry, I had to return it, but I have since found a more robust model (at Lidl for £9.99 to be precise -- made in Germany of course, not China) and that did the trick immediately.

I am a DIYr, I have a small bedroom which has in the past suffered from mould due to a lack of ventilation which I thought was cured three years ago by using Wallrock and increasing ventilation. Recently a low corner was wet and with green mould. I needed to assess how far this wet or damp area extended and using a meter was necessary for this job. This meter was invaluable, easy to use and a very handy size which would fit into corners, the read outs showed me the extent of the problem. What I didn’t like was the instructions, I had to guess and by trial and error which facility to use, ie. Plaster or paper, nevertheless the readout showed the extent of the damp.

Bought this as we were buying a new caravan. Several adverts told of “no damp”. Did a little research on each van and where damp may be present, and this little number found it!Recommended.

Very easy to use and seems to be quite accurate. Happy with purchase.

It is difficult to use & set as it shut down in about 5 seconds I gave up the temperature was 10 degrees to high showing 30 degs against 20 degs of other thermometers. No, I cannot recommend this meter spend a bit more on a better meter it was too cheap!
