It is better than it claims
What A Miracle! I am on two acres of very tall pine trees, oak trees, and magnolias as well as many smaller trees and shrubs. Two years ago, every thing backed up and overflowed. Three plumbers costing almost three-thousand dollars did not resolve the problem. I was told I would need to cut down trees and have the roots cleared again afterwards. The cost would begin in the tens of thousands. I could not afford this. We were down to using 1 of 3 bathrooms and a slow draining shower. I used every product claiming to kill roots.Nothing helped. Last week I bought GreenGobbler root destroyer. It WORKS!!! The next day my entire plumbing system was back to normal. Even my washer had began to overflow. It is a miracle!! What the professionals could not do this did in one day. I am so thrilled that I could be a spokesperson for their company!!! The best!

Chemistry Is Our Friend
Take it from someone who's "been there, done that," this beats paying out thousands of dollars to a plumber (although they do earn their money) and having your basement floor dug up, and then covered back up again with concrete.I don't begrudge them making a living, I would just prefer they make if off of someone else.Because, guess what? Those big checks they collect come directly out of your pocket! But I actually suspect that they use part of their loot to pay kickbacks to Mother Nature. And do you know why they make so much money? Two words: Tree Roots.Tree roots are the best friend a plumber ever had. Not only do they keep him in business, they enable him to charge the incredible fees he charges. So, we build a house, and install a sewer line, and plant a few trees.Everything is just fine for a few years, until the tree roots finally find their way into the sewer pipes, and start their fun and games.Of course, we don't know anything about all of this, and don't find out until much later, when the roots have thoroughly infested our sewer lines, and brought everything to a screeching halt.Who in the world - except a plumber - would ever make any connection between your sewer line and the trees around your house? I for one would never associate the one with the other, nor have any reason to.Did you know that to roto-rooter your sewer line, even if they don't run into any sort of problem, (ha ha) is minimum, a hundred dollars or so? Of course, they wouldn't run into any problems... would they? Such as having to dig up your sewer line, for who knows how many dollars? You're just happy to have someone who can fix it, whatever it costs. But you know it's not going to be cheap.(Except you have no idea of just how not cheap.)You might as well have just signed a blank check, because he can pretty much determine how much his bill will be, as he thrashes through rooting out your sewer line, and finding who knows what other problems. And you have to take his word for whatever he says he has run Into, because it's all buried deep underground. But he surely wouldn't have any ulterior motive, would he?How many times do you think he has practiced the exact words he uses to tell you about the "problem" he has discovered?Oh, by the way: When the plumber does it, it's altogether different than the little spiral end on the roto-rooter kits you can buy, which is designed to pick up hair. His has a big circular blade, designed to cut through tough tree roots, which is without a doubt the problem you've got with your clogged sewer line. His is also connected to a big, powerful machine, that spins the blade relentlessly, cutting out the roots.Ninety-nine percent of the time, tree roots in the line are the problem, which grow thicker and tougher every day. If it's been a long time, that only means it's had a long time to get even worse. In my case, the entire cast-iron housing, which sits directly under the toilet, was totally clogged - and I mean packed - with roots, to the extent that I didn't see how even water was able to pass through it, let alone sewer waste. But somehow it did, right up until the time it didn't.That was about seventy-five years worth of roots. Which was on top of the entire length of the line being full of roots. I don't think the sewer line had ever been cleaned out.But of course they're going to run into trouble. You've already got trouble - your sewer line is stopped up. If we've got a house that is 50 plus years old, it's surely not a big surprise to discover some sewer problems. The thing is, when your sewer is stopped up, you've got a bad situation, and time is of the essence. You're not the expert - the plumber is - but when you put the problem in his hands, you're at his mercy.Unfortunately, you don't have much choice. He knows how to fix it, but there is no simple (read; cheap) way to make it happen. The fact is, there is no easy solution. Anything he does is going to cost you, plenty. It is, after all, your sewer, and if we already knew what we will learn by the time it's all over, we could have saved ourselves a ton of money and grief. But once it stops flowing, it's too late. All you can do is fix it, whatever it takes. As they say, "An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure," but who listens to that? In the case of your sewer, that is very smart advice to heed. But we usually don't worry about it until we are forced to, with a toilet that backs up or overflows. It's really not a case of if it might never happen, or only happens to other people. Tree roots do not discriminate. They get into every sewer line within their reach. If you've got trees even remotely close to your sewer pipe, they will find it.It definitely will happen, to you, but you just don't know when.If our home is 40, 50, or more years old, and the sewers have never been updated, there's no telling what's going on down there, but it's a lead-pipe cinch that they're full of roots. When they start roto-rooting, and applying force to ancient clay pipes, anything can happen. You might even say that it's just asking for trouble. This is the perfect example of "Out of sight, out of mind," because we don't see the sewers, and the only time we think about them at all, is when they don't work. And the reason they don't work is because they're clogged with roots.Plumbers make a lot of money, because they know how to get us up and running again, but it is very expensive. We must understand that a problem that took years to build up (tree roots) is not going to be resolved in an instant, even though it can be solved, but it will take some time. The very first hurdle is just to realize that tree roots are much more of a problem than we ever imagined. In fact, I knew pretty much zippo about tree roots, and had no idea they posed a major problem. But they do, in spades. It's not so much that they pose a problem; they are the problem. It's not, "Do you think that roots could actually get into my sewer lines?" In fact, they're already there, but just haven't completely stopped up the lines yet.The hair clog in the sink or tub is a piece of cake, compared to sewer-line root blockage, but it's all the same system. The truth is, we've got both scenarios to worry about, and a stiff price to pay when we ignore them. The problem has been, in my own case, I simply didn't know about roots getting into your sewer lines. Or, if I did know, I wouldn't have had a clue as to how to keep it from happening. But just to pour a couple of cupfuls of crystals from the container into your toilet bowl and flush it, how great is that? Could it get any easier?Thank God for modern technology - it saves us so much grief! That's not to say that it will work instantly. We do have to give it time to work, but just the fact that it does work, or that there actually is a solution, other than physically carving the roots out of the line with sheer brute force, as we have been doing, is fantastic.Which means that we have a choice: We can have instantly clean sewer lines, because we get the plumber to do his thing with his machine (and pay the price) or buy a jug of Green Gobbler for less than $20.00, and introduce it into our sewer line, and wait for the results. In retrospect, even rooting out my sewer lines would not have gotten the roots out of the fixture under my toilet, which even today, I'm amazed that it continued to function for as long as it did.Having something like the Green Gobbler, which will gobble up the roots, like feeding the fish, seems to be the ideal solution. And then, on a periodic but regular basis, we can feed the roots with another couple of pounds of crystals, like every two months, and have the problem solved forever! One thought to ponder: Two months from now, one of two things will have happened. We either did or did not pour root-dissolving crystals into our toilet, and have either more or less roots to worry about. But tree roots are insidious, and they definitely will get into your sewer lines. You've got to do something, or else you've got a serious situation , which you will have to resolve one way or another.I think I like this way better.

If You Want FOAMING Action - Look Elsewhere!
Been using Roebic Foaming Root Killer for many years, which is good stuff that foams FURIOUSLY as it goes down the drain. Decided to give this a try because it looked like a good deal (10 lb container that gives you 5 treatments at the 2 lb rate recommended). However, was VERY disappointed - NO FOAMING ACTION AT ALL! Tried shaking contained and redistributing to see if it would help - no improvement. Basically just some fancy salt crystals that will go down the line like regular root killer salts. Hoping it'll still do some good, but description is totally bogus - it does NOT foam! LESS than impressed...

FREE OF HARSH CHEMICALS + IT DOES THE JOB AS ADVERTISED!
Previously I have used another product with the reputation of Freeing up one's Sewer Line from the House to the Street. Yes it has worked for me however I've become more conscious of the Environmental Effects a product has. Not long after I used this product on my Sewer Line I experienced a Water Back-up via my Floor Drain. My City Water Department came out a put a Camera in the Main Drain and found it to be as Clean as a Whistle. So they used a smaller Camera and found the Line from my Laundry Tubs to the Floor Drain to be restricted. So I used a Liquid Gel product from Green Gobbler that remedied my situation. So IF your are Environmentally Concerned I strongly recommend GREEN GOBBLER PRODUCTS.

Need to wear respirator
When measuring out 2 pounds, be sure to do it outside and to wear a respirator and protective goggles, as the dust created may enter eyes and throat.

This item requires some serious time to dissolve roots.
I couldn't wait. Had to get roto rooter. They gave me a quick no hassle refund. If you have a problem that is not immediate, this item might be worth purchasing. Good companies deserve support.

Awesome Product!
The product is amazing and has really helped our system to work better than it has since we purchased our house seven years ago. Three months ago, we had a huge mess in the basement and called a septic business to pump our tank and look to see if we had issues. They said it was just roots at the end and we would be fine, but soon after that the toilets started flushing slow again and backing up. I found this product on amazon and decided to give it a try. The customer service is great as well. Two nights of using it solved our problems. We will order again if we ever notice a flow problem in the future. Highly recommend!
