850nm IR Illuminator Night Vision Flashlight, Infrared Illuminator for Night Vision Camera Device

This works great, I use it in my youtube videos with a night vision flash light

Borrowed a friend’s infrared night vision camera, but it had a very narrow field of view and the wide angle lens covers up the infrared LEDs built into the camera, so I couldn’t use the wide angle lens and night vision at the same time. Bought this as a quick fix for the problem, and it works PERFECTLY! It’s even better than the built in infrared! No visible light whatsoever, but the night vision mode on the camera works better than ever using this flashlight.

This things is pretty great. I use it in conjunction with my gen 3 Elbit PVS-14 in case ambient light isn't enough and as an umbrella light and the light itself is fantastic. There are 2 reasons I dinged it a star. 1: when completely zoomed in, it makes this weird square which is annoying and difficult to navigate when trying to spot something far away. And 2: this light is pretty bulky. Like it's physically pretty solid and can survive some abuse but it's got some meat to it that I didn't expect by looking at the pictures

I ordered a different brand that didn’t work so I ordered this as a replacement and it works perfectly for full spectrum cameras and night vision camcorders. The amount of light it puts off is amazing! Just keep in mind this will not put off any visible light and will only work with IR devices!!!

It could be the fact that the camera that I am using is not a "night vision" camera; but it does have a night vision mode. The flashlight just doesn't seem to give off much IR light. When I put the beam all the way on narrow I can definitely see it from a decent distance but that's about it. Widen the beam and it's like there isn't even light there through the lens. I'll try some different batteries and I have a night vision binoculars otw. So I will try to update when I can. Right now, however, just not impressed.

Where I work the lights go off after some time, they are motion sensor activated. I was hoping with this I could point IR light at them to turn them back on. No such luck. I picked 3 stars across the board because I have no night vision gear or any other way to verify that it actually works, other than the dim red LED indicator that comes on.

So far so good. As described. A++++ hope it last a while.

I use this to augment a night vision binocular, and can also use it to add extra light to my IR security cameras on demand if needed without using visible light. It works equally well on an 18650 rechargeable battery or the included 3 - AAA battery adapter. Great performance and value.
