Gosick: The Complete Series [Blu-ray]

If you would of seen this at the start of late 2010's you would have jumped for the chance. Now for less than most titles. A glorious amazing deal on a central part of a grand masterpiece.Emotional, story-driven designs, and characters who only could be found in todays titles like Violent Evergarden. This is your bluray.

I had already seen this anime online, years ago, but having forgotten most of the stories, I picked up the blu-ray and thoroughly enjoyed watching it again. The artwork is superior to most other anime, and the series consist of 24 episodes rather than just 12 or 13. The hero is a normal Japanese exchange student with no special abilities or powers. His life changes when he meets Victorique, a tiny school girl who is imprisoned in a library tower at his school. She is a genius who solves mysteries that baffle the police. The setting is a fictional European monarchy wedged between France and Italy. The series is set in the interwar years between World War One and World War Two. Due to the political machinations of this fictional country, World War 2 begins nearly twenty years early. As the two students confront one trouble after another, they form a reluctant friendship. The stories are a bit dark, but nothing unsuitable for older children or young teens. My only complaint with the anime is the disconnect between the stylized Art Decco artwork and the rock music opening. A song more in keeping with the art would probably have been a better choice. If you haven't seen it, this anime is worth a watch, and the Anime Essentials price can't be beat, since this series originally sold for well over a hundred dollars when it was first released.

Gosick is a masterpiece. Its elegant and bizarre at the same time. It has comedy, romanticism and action in the same value pack. If you are a fan of good anime, you will enjoy Gosick, I recommend it.

Was skeptical to order this at first after seeing the reviews about a faulty set with missing discs, but I order my set May 3rd, 2019, received it yesterday (May 4th 2019) and it indeed had all 4 discs that make up the complete series. I normally don't leave reviews, but I was very hesitant to order, but took the risk and the issue seems to have been corrected. Just throwing the info out there for anyone else who may want the series, but may be unsure if the problem has been corrected.

This anime started off a little slow and jumped into a slight confusion. The characters start off showing their immaturity by annoying each other saying silly things and teasing each other. But as the anime grew, so did the characters. Becoming more mature and more mysterious. The ending had me grasping my chair. It might start off a little rocky but it grew into an epic adventure by the end!

A detective story that you are left wondering where it will lead too. An article that is used will let you know who to compare to.

This anime went almost completely under the radar bc it came out during the Typhoon and Nuclear Reactor crisis in Japan. They Push this out late and for some reason this work of art went unnoticed. I LOVE this anime about the young Victorique and Kazuya Kujo, two high school outcast for being known as the She Angel that takes your soul when you ask for a wish and the He Devil that comes in spring. They work as a Sherlock Holmes and Watson pair to solves murders and other crazy mysterious.

Unlike the previous versions of the complete series for this show, this has all the correct discs in the DVD case. It's high-def and the story is a gender-flipped of Croisee in a Foreign Labyrinth with a bit of mystery involved.

Empecemos por los que muchos buscan. No tiene opciones en español.Es un paquete de 4 discos, cada uno decorado con un pequeño patrón de encaje. Contamos con la respectiva copia digital y un arte reverso interesante, pues evoca el estilo artístico de la animación de opening. Quizás un poco demasiado sencillo para mí gusto, pero al menos hay un arte reverso.El contenido adicional es poco, rayando en lo mediocre pues son solamente trailer y animaciones de apertura y cierre sin créditos, incluso repitiendo el opening, dando una sensación de pereza; y si, entiendo que no es una serie completa desde un inicio, sino dos partes unidad en paquete, pero bien pudieron poner alguna entrevista sencilla al menos con las voces en inglés.Dejando las quejas de lado, la serie es impresionante para el tiempo que tiene desde su emisión; con una animación muy fluida y si tomamos en consideración lo varios detalles en los vestidos y peinados, es innegable que pusieron una cantidad de esfuerzo en éste proyecto bque incluso hoy en día resultaría difícil de batir. El tema de apertura es excelente y los dos de cierre tampoco están mal.La historia es muy interesante, con varios misterios y escalando cada vez más su trama; en cierto momento se vuelve turbio el asunto y llega a tocar temas sensibles. Quizás lo sentí algo apresurado en la recta final, pero no deja de ser atrapante.En conclusión. Testificando como alguien que conoció por primera vez la serie en éste medio, debo decir que estoy más que satisfecho con como resultaron las cosas, tanto por la gran caridad de tiempo de reproducción, como la historia en si o los pequeños detalles en forma de arte inverso y estampado al disco. Si andas buscando algo nuevo y barato, ésta opción es casi un robo, sobre todo si vemos que algunas ediciones actuales pueden llegar a costar 4 veces más y dar la mitad de contenido.Cinco estrellas bien ganadas.

Product is great. Exactly as described. Only criticism I have is the case was partially broken during shippinng. But being an international post, can’t expect much better. Great work guys 👍

商品写真が表のみなので確認できていませんでしたが、4ディスク入っており1～24話収録されています。ＰＳ4で問題なく再生できますが音声を日本語にしても英字幕は設定でも消せないです。特典映像としてノンクレジットのOP/EDのみ収録されています。購入前に配信で720ｐで見ていたのですが、ブルーレイの1080ｐは細かい描写が一段とクリアになっており、音質もより臨場感があります。海外版を理解し低価格で省スペースパッケージを手に入れられると思えば満足な商品でした。
