This product has a great name and a good trial size. I wanted to love it, but it absolutely did not remove eye make up nearly as well as three other brands I’ve used, price ranging from $3-$40! I had to work too hard to remove my mascara (and I don’t want to pull on my eyelashes!), and I’m not convinced my face was very clean afterwards. Sorry : (

Weird pump..waste more with pump

I’m a little confused if “I Woke Up Like This Daily Rice Rebalancing Cleansing Water” (Woke) is a toner for after cleansing, or if it’s a multitasker micellar water. The box says it’s “Cleansing water based on fermented rice to keep balance in skin after cleansing for clear and moisturized skin.” Either way, it does a pretty good job of removing makeup and grime based on what I can see leftover on my cotton rounds.Assuming this is supposed to be okay to remove eye makeup, it does remove my concealer and non waterproof mascara (I don’t wear waterproof) pretty well. But it doesn’t feel gentle, and my eyes burn too much. I much prefer Lancôme Bifacil eye makeup remover or Cinema Secrets Break It Down as both are more effective and neither burn nor sting my eyes. Also, I’ve used Lancôme Bifacil for ages and have only fine lines, so I have more confidence using it on my delicate skin.I’ve also used Woke in the morning having cleansed quickly before bed the night before and also as a toner after cleansing. It does pick up residual makeup and grime well and seems to lightly exfoliate. I feel it’s effective, but it feels too strong for my dry, sensitive skin. It gives my skin a burning sensation that feels similar to when I would wipe my face with a cotton ball with rubbing alcohol as a teen (before I knew better).Woke doesn’t feel comforting and feels like it has alcohol. It has rice ferment filtrate (sake), which I would think has some alcohol. But I’m not a skin care expert and Skincarisma shows this as an alcohol free product. Plus, I’ve read sake calms sensitive skin. So I don’t know why Woke makes my skin burn, but I prefer comforting products. Also, box suggests this moisturizes, but it doesn’t feel like it hydrates my skin.The ingredients rate low risk (except a common preservative) and Woke also has seemingly good ingredients for dry skin, such as panthenol, glycerin and soybean seed extract. This product seems good, and I can’t explain why it feels uncomfortable to my skin. I assume it’s because I have dry, sensitive skin or maybe a reaction to an ingredient. So this may be great for others. This is a great cleansing water with stellar ingredients that quickly removed my makeup, sunscreen, oil and (non waterproof) mascara, leaving it feeling soft and clean. It has purified water and rose water as the top 2 ingredients, with additions such as sake (rice ferment), hyaluronic acid and riboflavin that are great for gentle hydration and brightening. The pump top is fun (I think!) to use and perfect to get just the right amount of product onto your cotton pad.I was a bit sad to see a few lower reviews based solely on the incorrect assumption that it should be removing mascara, so I wanted to provide some info on the true nature of micellar water! Originating in France, micellar became a staple in french women's skincare to cleanse the skin at the end of the day, particularly for those with sensitive skin types that could not handle the harsh water of the time before modern traditional plumbing. True micellar water was never made to remove modern waterproof eye makeup. It is made of purified water, micelles, and gentle surfactants that will remove regular makeup, moisturizers, sunscreen, oil, dirt, and impurities. This is a true micellar water and effectively removed all of the above for me, as well as my non waterproof eyeliner and mascara, which I was pleasantly surprised about. If you are looking to remove waterproof mascara etc, you will need a waterproof eye makeup remover to do so. As an American, I do see the (mostly western) skincare trend of preferring what's quick and easy, so I see people assuming micellar to be an everything-eraser, and even take the place of actually washing your face. Particularly now that larger brands such as Garnier market a "micellar water " that claim to remove everything including waterproof mascara. Theirs is not truly micellar water then however, but instead a larger bottle of rather diluted eye makeup remover. It may work for some, but certainly did not for me as it burned my eyes incredibly bad and left a very greasy residue on the surface of my skin.Though it may not be for everyone, I find micellar water such as this one an essential addition to a layered, gentle skin care routine such as one involving double cleansing, to keep your skin clean and pores free of impurities, oil, and build-up.

The ROSE scent is not heavy by rather a REAL light rose scent that I really find desirable. Application is easy, wipe onto skin with a clean cotton pad is what I prefer. It's cleaning ability is grand! Seems to get deep I to the pores plus balance my uneven skin tones!I like the design of the bottle as well. It has flip top cap with a syringe pump top dispenser that creates an wet spritz of water that saturates cotton pad with only 2x pumps. No need to remove the cap! Great feature, in my opinion!I think this skincare product is wonderful! It cleans and tones my skin, getting deep into my clogged pores and removing the dirt and grime from my normal day. This product evens my skin tone making my skin look and beautiful with a natural glow.
