How quiet is this? It has a picture of sounds, but I didn't see where it mentioned the sound of this product.

It's very quiet, you can hear it if you pay close attention, but over all, quiet. It's only 350W, so when you turn it on it does not dim your lights like a regular space heater. Also no red flare like it shows.

mine is a 350w but they do make a 500w unit

Can this be used with a 2 prong adapter in an older home?

An older homes electric, should not use adapters, especially since its a heater. Just like an A/C, plug directly into your wall only

Can the plug rotate to accommodate horizontal outlet?

You should never use this on a power strip. Something like this, should be plugged directly into your wall.
