We used this to make it possible to open the bedroom door if the dogs closed the door on themselves... Which they've done three times in the past year. We use a toy rope with a ball so they can tug it open. We also use it on our garage door so we can haul in groceries without having to open the door handle! Works great.

That's all I was looking for. This allows the door to close without locking. Can be useful for many reasons, even simply so that you don't have to give out a key to the door to give people access. They can simply unlatch the door when they are done -- and it's locked!

I was looking at the thicker fabric ones for a while but was concerned the fabric wouldn’t allow us to close our doors as much as we wanted. I came across these and they’ve been on our doors for about two months now and they are still in great shape and doing their job. The elastic doesn’t seem to have stretched out at all yet. So far so good!

They seem sturdy enough and are easy to use. The problem I have is that they don't stop the door from latching. I bought them to stop my toddler from locking herself in her room. It is still possible for her to lock herself in her room with this product as it isn't quite sturdy enough to hold the latch, the nub that pokes through the leather was enough to prevent the door from opening unless you turned the handle.

The sliding clasp, that should tighten the string, doesn't work on all 3 that came in the package. I'm not really impressed. Cheaply made for the money charged.

All 3 have lasted about a week. Tears easily. Product works good until it tears from normal use.

They work great! I needed something thin that is also strong enough to hold the bolt back and these allow us to close the doors but not worry about someone accidentally locking them.

I love not hearing doors slam in the house. If you don’t mind not locking your door this item is for you.
