Taking for my brain. ABSOLUTELY tasteless. Excellent value.
After seeing a few articles describing the cognitive benefits to Inulin Fructo-oligosaccharide I opted to give it a try to see if it could help with my deteriorating memory. A study conducted at London's Crown College found that cognitive test scores of elderly patients improved after 12 weeks on this supplement. This may seem odd for a digestion supplement but there have been a number of discoveries in the last few years concerning the connection between gut health and brain function. Apparently this stuff feeds some normal variety(ies) of gut bacteria that produce some compound that crosses the blood/brain barrier and does your grey matter a good turn. The study also found and noted that it had no other benefits at all as I assume this stuff was previously being marketed under other claims. I started off with capsules. Though large, they were easy to swallow. I noticed no effect from them whatsoever good or bad, though they only last 4 weeks. I went to a 1 pound bottle of powder this time and have continued for another ten days or so. I have only my subjective opinion to rely on, but I feel as if I am seeing some small improvements in my memory: name recall, function recall, processing, etc. This time it seems as if use of the powder may have slightly increased flatulence (farting) but not problematically so and even if it was the Inulin, the effect is fading off. The powder is ASTOUNDINGLY tasteless. Last night I dissolved two heaping teaspoons in perhaps 5 ounces of warm water and when I drank it, it tasted EXACTLY like a glass of water. The water does not need to be warm - I was only trying to enhance and detect the taste of the stuff. The powder is extremely fine and dissolves quite readily. And I have mixed it in my morning coffee, juice and water. It would be perfect in smoothies if you're into those - I'm just too lazy for that. This powder was less than half the price/gram of the capsules I was taking and so I regard it as an excellent value. My deteriorating memory has been a major concern for me and the lack of effective therapies was distressing. This seems like a very low risk possibility with some valid science behind it. I plan to continue to take this stuf for 6 - 9 months before deciding whether or not I discern a valid, objective benefit. If I'd had some sort of baseline cognitive testing that I could repeat, I would test after 12 weeks to see if there were anything detectable happening. There is always the placebo effect but I do my best not to let my hopes and expectations hold sway. However, finding something that even suggests a valid possibility of therapeutic benefit improves my outlook on the future and I can't deny that is an enjoyable change. I will buy Inulin again and I will very likely buy it from NOW supplements.

Great prebiotic — gentle, effective, and high quality!
I’ve been using NOW Foods Inulin Prebiotic Pure Powder for a fa while now, and I’m really impressed with both the quality and the results. It’s completely organic, pure, and dissolves easily in water, coffee, or smoothies without altering the flavor much — just a very slight sweetness that’s actually pleasant. After about a week of consistent use, I noticed better digestion and less bloating. It’s also helped me stay more regular, and I genuinely feel my gut health improving. I appreciate that this product is non-GMO, vegan, and free from additives — exactly what I look for in supplements. The value for money is great, especially since a little goes a long way. I usually start with half a teaspoon a day to let my body adjust (inulin can cause gas if you jump in too fast), and that’s been perfect for me. Overall, this is a fantastic prebiotic fiber from a trusted brand. If you’re looking to support your gut health naturally, this is an excellent choice.

Made L.Reuteri yogurt with this product - Awesome success!!
The Now Foods Inulin worked flawlessly. I made L.Reuteri yogurt with it. Time fermenting was for 36 hours. Mixing it with the Half and Half, it clumps up into a gummy blob. You have to stir it, or mix it with a mixer to get it to dissolve. Just mix a little bit at a time so it doesn't clump up. I did this on my second batch of yogurt. The first batch turned out still with the clumps not mixed in fully, LOL. I was surprised it didn't go bad or something. For organic inulin, the price is pretty good in my opinion. Used a yogurt making machine - This one: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0GYP1H6F1?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_fed_asin_title The size of machine was compact and small allowing the two 32oz glass bowls and lid to fit perfectly. The temperature was on point perfect. I measured the temp, which was set to 100F for L.Reuteri yogurt throughout the 36 hours process and it was exact. I had put a folded dish towel on the lid to insulate the warmth to avoid temp fluctuations. So far there aren't any moving parts, so I think it will last for some time. I fill the chamber with water up to the edge of bowls when fermenting yogurt. When finished after 36 hours, it sounds an alarm and shuts down automatically. Afterwards, I just dry the machine with my dish towel and put the bowls in the refrigerator. The appearance of machine is nice, black and stainless exactly like the photos. The controls are very easy to use and as indicated from instruction booklet. I used 2 capsules for 32oz of Horizon Organic Half and Half I used 2Tbsp of Now Organic Inulin for 32oz I hope this helps you make your yogurt. Peace!! \m/ Stay Healthy!! The items I used for my L. Has worked for me to decrease appetite, and increase weight loss
Studies on inulin's ability to decrease appetite are inconsistent. Studies I read said results can vary between individuals. For me, this has been a game changer. I've dealt with SIBO, so my gut bacteria were out of whack. What is known is that inulin is a prebiotic, and feeds the good bacteria in the gut. And these good bacteria regulate hunger hormones. I would say my appetite has decreased by at least 50% - at least - since I started taking this stuff. But i take more than the recommended dose. If you spend any time online you might have heard from Dr. Gundry, who sites a study in which individuals who were on a 14-day water fast were also given 100 calories per day of inulin. That amounts to 10 teaspoons of this stuff. He says they had no appetite whatsoever. I've been taking about 80 calories (8 teaspoons) per day. I am NOT recommending that anyone do this - I'm only stating what has worked for me. I put it in my water, it has no taste, and dissolves easily in water. I've noticed a slight increase in gas, but no other side effect. Except big decrease in appetite and weight loss! I had gained weight when my thyroid went off the charts. I started doing this about a week ago, and have lost 3 pounds. Haven't changed anything else. So I believe it is effective for me for weight loss. Hope it works as well for you if you try it.

Works fairly quickly.
After using this product for less than a week my gut appears to be improving. I was not holding out much hope, so was surprised to see a difference so soon. Will definately be purchasing this again.

Good brand and a good idea for your gut!
Inulin is a great prebiotic that doesn't mess with blood sugar and helps to regulate your gut function. I'm new to taking it. I like the brand for reliability and testing. It's a fine powder that does get sticky on the spoon, but it seems to mix easily into my banana milk kefir smoothie. Now, if you're sensitive to stuff, you may find that it makes you a bit sleepy, which is why they recommend taking it before bed! I tried that, but I try not to consume anything prior to bedtime, so I went right back to a lunchtime smoothie with inulin, and I'm powering through the urge to nap! I haven't noticed anything physically yet, and I suppose that's a good thing! No ill effects whatsoever! Good brand and a good idea!

Good for your gut.
Very good product. Works perfectly well for constipation. Don’t think it’s a laxative… it’s not. It’s fibre that works in the gut & helps to pass a stool without problems.
