The Holy Grail of Plant Based Protein Powders!
I have tried sooooo many plant based protein powders over the past decade. Some have been nearly $100 a month through MLM subscription programs [Shakeology], others not quite so expensive and available at warehouse clubs and grocery stores, but none have checked off so many of the boxes as Genius protein. I drink a shake EVERY day and this one is perfect and my go to. It blends well with added products, comes out smooth without the chalky taste, and doesn't have any added or unnecessary junk. I follow a macro based eating plan and as a vegetarian it can be challenging to reach 130g of protein a day. This protein powder has a great macro break down with the 22g of protein, but lower carb and fat so I can add to it if I want or need to. I really appreciate this flexibility because a pre or post workout shake should have less than 8g of fat and I can add banana or other fruit to restore my glycogen post work out. The taste is great and it blends really well with added products like peanut butter powder and banana. My husband asks me to make him shakes as a snack to avoid his ice cream habit, I blend this powder with ice and water in my nutri bullet and it is like a creamy thick shake. Such a huge win! The other thing to note is how low the sodium is in this product, I could never understand why so many of the other mainstream vegan shake powders have such crazy amounts of sodium. That was also a huge win for me! I'm repeat buyer and am so happy that I can stop the continuous search and cycle of eating poor tasting shakes in search of "the one" as now I have found it! Thank you Genius!

GREAT TASTE, NO BLOAT, EXACTLY AS DESCRIBED!
I purchased GENIUS vegan protein powder because I was looking for a vegan protein that wasn’t made with soy, was high in protein, low carb, low sugar, AND low sodium, which is always a rarity with vegan proteins. Usually proteins like this also taste terrible. GENIUS said it had a rich creamy taste. WELL it did NOT disappoint! This protein was everything it said it was! I loved the taste and consistency of my smoothies! I also loved the fact that it didn’t mess with my stomach, like a lot of proteins too! Also I notice a lot of bloat after mixing with other vegan proteins, but not with GENIUS! Cleanest protein I have ever had all around! I looked forward to making a smoothie just for the taste alone, which is also a rarity! Another very important thing to point out is that I am loving how my body is reacting to the protein. With too much protein I tend to bulk in ways that I don’t like. I am always looking for lean muscle mass and this gave me exactly that! I do wish I could find a vanilla flavor, but even so, the chocolate still mixes in great with fruit and flax milk/water to make a refreshing tasting smoothie! I can’t imagine using any other proteins from here on out! BRAVO!

Will Buy Again
I agree with other reviews in that it's easily dissolved, smooth going down, not overly sweet, and easy to digest. I think I am finally getting used to the Stevia flavor, which I historically have not liked. I think I will switch between this one and Birdman. I like Birdman because of the causes it participates in and it also makes good pudding. It has 2g more protein per scoop as well. This one was too chalky to make a good pudding without an aftertaste, but it's perfect for adding to a Mason jar and shaking up without any clumps. I didn't even need a blender ball.

Best Vegan Protein I've Found BY FAR
This stuff is WAY better than any other vegan protein I've tried. It is, by far, the least gritty and has the best flavor. I MUCH prefer it to VegaSport, which was the brand I purchased previously. I like that the protein sources are varied, and aren't chiefly rice. I get a lot of rice in my diet because I'm gluten free, so I actively seek out things other than rice to ensure variety. I also appreciate the fact that it's sweetened with Stevia, not Sucralose or some other artificial sweetener. If I let it sit for awhile, I have to shake it up to get the sediment off of the bottom of the shaker cup, but it doesn't result in a gritty protein. (That's my chief complaint with Vega. That, and I think some of the flavors are just "off"). This has a delicious chocolate flavor that I truly look forward to, and I like that it has a bit of thickness to it - it's kind of like drinking a milkshake. On top of that, I feel good taking it, and my gains have been consistent with other vegan proteins. (I benchmark it with other vegan proteins. I still think I experience better gains with whey, but I don't tolerate it well.) I look forward to this after each workout, and will drink it at night to curb my nighttime sweet tooth. Great stuff.

Eh won’t buy again
This is the first vegan protein I’ve ever had, I usually stick with ISO whey(which I’ll probably switch back to after this is gone)I think this protein taste delicious when it’s mixed in with a frozen banana, and some peanut butter in a blender with ice and almond milk, but alone I don’t think it tastes good at all. It’s very chalky, not chocolatey, or really even sweet at all. I don’t dislike the product but I wouldn’t buy this vegan protein again, I’d like to try some of the other products from the company because I do like quality/how “clean” the product is.

Genius it Ain't.
Let's begin by saying if you are going to name your company "Genius" you had better deliver. I would expect the same from a plumbing company named "Never Late" or a construction company named "Nailed It" or a beautician service named "Stunning". Maybe Genius should rebrand and call themselves "Brainy". It still espouses intelligence yet doesn't carry the same chutzpah as Genius. Neither does it set up the customer for disappointment. Win/Win. Since flavor is a subjective thing to review, I am not basing this review on it. TBH I have tried many protein shakes (vegan and non-vegan) and will say that while I am not a fan of this flavor it is not the reason why I won't be buying this again. The consistency feels inorganic, like a chalky cream. Mixing with coconut water helps. Adding a tablespoon of your preferred cocoa or cacao powder will offset the (genius?) chocolate flavor they created. I usually take whey protein but had been experiencing bloating and general discomfort in my GI tract and so thought to incorporate a vegan protein. While I think taking a break from the whey for a month has helped, I cannot say that my time with this Genius product has made me a regular customer. Previous to this protein, I had tried various nootropics products from Genius and was equally underwhelmed. Buyer beware, the writing is on the wall. Those who call themselves genius are rarely found to be so.

Honestly my favorite vegan protein, and I've tried them all.
I have been vegan for several years, and a dairy-free vegetarian since I was about 13, so it's safe to say I've had plenty of time to try lots of vegan protein powders. Orgain, Vega, Sun Warrior, Garden of Life, Amazing Grass, PlantFusion...even Shaklee and whatever the beach body one is –– vegan shakeology? I have tried all of these and more. Often you'll encounter too sweet, too gritty, no flavor and awful texture, wanting to dump what you just bought back in the sink...yeah. Been there. I'm here to tell you, completely un-prompted and unsponsored, that this is the best. I tried it when it first came out, I think sometime last year, and then couldn't find it for quite a while. As soon as I saw it on Amazon again I switched for good. This protein powder is creamy, silky-smooth, and fills you up without making you feel overly stuffed or gross. I have even mixed it in my blender bottle without a shaker ball by accident, and there wasn't a clump anywhere in sight! Incredible. If you're looking for a vegan protein powder that doesn't taste like literal dirt in a bottle, this is what you want. This is the protein powder that all the other ones wish they could be. !0/10.

Gets the job done
Finding a good vegan or non-dairy protein powder can be extremely difficult because you have to worry about so many things: taste, ingredient quality, grams of protein per serving, cost & value, blendability, and body reaction. Below is a quick synopsis of my thoughts on each of those metrics: Taste: 3/5 - could be better, could be worse. Add a little honey or a really flavorful nut milk and you can mask that chalky flavor for the most part Ingredient quality: 5/5 - nothing but healthy plant proteins, no soy, and a wealth of amino acids Protein/serving: 4/5 - that's the downside of plant proteins, you don't get as many grams of protein/serving. However this is still on the higher side of most vegan protein powders Cost/value: 3.5/5 - not the best, not the worst. It's not a large tub and if you're trying to get higher protein intake, you can go through the tub pretty quickly, which can get pricey. I have caught this on sale or with 5 - 10% coupons which does help a little. Blendability: 4/5 - not sure if that's a word, but you know what I mean. I can pretty easily blend this powder with a milk or water using just my blender bottle and the consistency is typically pretty smooth. You will get chunks/globs here and there, but much better than other vegan powders Body reaction: 5/5 - no upset stomach or digestion issues. No acne breakouts. No grogginess or trouble sleeping. And I'm seeing the results of the additional protein intake; my arms and quads have gotten noticeably bigger. Overall, just about a 4 out of 5 :) Hope this helps!
