Burt's Bees Baby 100% Natural Origin Multipurpose Healing Ointment, Face & Body Baby Ointment – 7.5 Ounce Tub

We’ve been using Burt’s Bees Baby Multipurpose Healing Ointment for over three years, and it has been one of the best products we’ve ever purchased for my son. As an infant, he had eczema and would often develop a contact rash around his mouth and cheeks whenever he ate acidic foods because of his very sensitive skin. His specialist recommended applying a protective barrier before meals, and this ointment worked perfectly. It creates a gentle, moisturizing barrier that helped protect his skin from irritation while he was eating. We noticed a significant difference, and it made mealtime so much less stressful. It was easy to apply, stayed in place well, and washed off without any issues. We also use it on his eczema flare-ups, and it does an excellent job of keeping his skin moisturized and helping soothe dry, irritated patches. I really appreciate that it’s made with natural ingredients and doesn’t have a strong fragrance, which is important for children with sensitive skin. A little goes a long way, so one tub lasts quite a while. Even after all these years, it’s still a staple in our home, and I always make sure we have one on hand. Overall, I can’t recommend this ointment enough for babies and children with sensitive skin or eczema. It’s gentle, effective, and has worked wonderfully for our family. I would absolutely purchase it again.

... and it's cheaper too (at a Box Store, that is). I don't know how long this product has been on the market as my local Babies R Us and Targets just got this in recently. I had been using Babyganics Ointments on my 14 mo old from birth to 12 months. I loved this stuff! It was the only thing I could find in stores that didn't have a laundry list of chemicals and questionable substances. Johnson & Johnson had made the news yet ago just before her birth and that's when I decided to go as natural as I could. I thought it worked quite well and used it with every diaper change and extra for her overnight diapers when she began sleeping through. She only ever had a diaper rash (small, smaller than a quarter in size) once she started solids foods/fruits. We preferred the stuff in jars as it was more pliable and less "clumpy" compared to the travel tubes. However, once I learned about Honest Co, I switched to their variety. Honest Co's ointment is really nice, the price not so much. It literally melts on contact with skin and goes on quite silky. It has far fewer ingredients compared to Babyganics and did a far better job with the small "teething" diaper rashes she got with her molars. I ordered directly from Honest Co as it's cheaper there compared to amazon. When I ordered that allowed you to create a "bundle" of 5-8 products, as many of each as you chose for $36. Now they limit it to only 2 Ointments per Bundle, per month. Apparently they were catching on that the Ointment was really one of the few things worth the price. I tried several other products of theirs only to donate them (Stain remover, all purpose cleaner, glass cleaner). Babyganics Glass Cleaner is better than Honest Co and you can make vinegar solutions for other cleaners that work better than Honest Co... peroxide is a better stain remover and Dreft Stain remover is leaps and bounds better than theirs. It even got out bright blue on all of my clothing and towels that had bled from new dish towels. Anywho... Honest Co ointment is better than Babyganics. Burt's Bees was purchased this week at a box retailer as a promo for Buy 2 get 1. I figured I couldn't wrong as it was cheaper than Babyganics so I took the plunge. I noticed an immediate difference in texture compared to both Babyganics and Honest Co. Not only did it melt into Baby Girl's skin/tush area instantly, it also remained there over night (in a very fine layer)! The Honest Co never lasted through the night and she always had some redness in the morning and was made worse if she poo'd just before waking. BB's kept her skin protected and absolutely no redness this morning. I have used a fraction of the amount I would have of Babyganics and it's beyond better. I will not go back to Honest Co and pay through the nose when I can have BB's which works better for both healing and overnight and/or short term protection. As a side note, I even tried organic coconut oil this week before the Burt's Bees and wasn't impressed with that option either. It was a pain in the butt to apply until it warmed but it did not provide the lasting protection she needs for overnights. I read 2+ doz natural momma blogs, all swearing the benefits of coconut oil. My experience proved otherwise. So of the 4 products I have used with my baby girl, this is the clear winner. I'd purchase this but the case full if I ever got word that this would be discontinued. With another baby on the way, this will be the only ointment we use. Hubby also liked it much better too. "Less sticky and easier to apply" compared to the other options, were his thoughts.

We use this for everything on our daughter! This was suggested to us for cradle cap, believe it or not. The case wasn’t severe but we wanted to prevent it as much as possible. We used a soft brush and put a small amount on to brush into her hair. Yes, it makes the hair a bit greasy but smells wonderful and prevented any scales from appearing. Also great for rashes, scratches, dry skin etc.

I bought this because of it’s natural ingredients and use it on my face along with beef tallow cream. My skin has improved so much! The combo creates a somewhat oily cream and in the morning I wash it off with cool water. It makes my skin so supple and my only regret is that I didn’t start sooner.

I love the consistency however I don’t feel like it actually helped my son‘s eczema. It does help with keeping your skin moisturized for a period of time as long as you wear pants. But for an affordable decent sized jar and natural multipurpose ointment, will definitely give it four out of five stars, not for eczema, but great moisturizer.

This has been a GAME CHANGER. Ive noticed a HUGE difference in my daughters eczema. Ive been gathering her up with it 2 - 4 x a day and its noticeably WAY BETTER. Not itchy, not bleeding or cracked. Its really working SO well. She said it feels So much better and has so much relief. I love the sweet aroma of it.

I’ve been using this on my eczema and dry lips, it’s AMAZING. My skin and lips have been extremely dry lately and I thought I would try this because it’s cruelty free and that’s very important to me, it’s already been about two or three days and I’ve noticed a difference. The smell isn’t pleasant but it’s a wonderful product and affordable for the size. I love it and will be buying again!

This ointment was a complete LIFESAVER. I needed a petrolatum‑free alternative, and this one absolutely hit the mark. I had what was basically a “chemical peel” to remove sun damage on my face, and the pain, itching, and peeling were totally unbearable. Then I tried this healing ointment, and it immediately calmed and soothed my skin. I kept it on throughout the entire healing process, and it really helped minimize the pain and itching while keeping my face hydrated. I always applied it with clean hands, on clean skin, and I never had a clogged pore or breakout. Yes, it’s a little “greasy” like petroleum jelly, but that’s exactly what creates the protective barrier - just without the ingredients I was trying to avoid. I’ll be using this for any kind of chapped skin, burns, or sunburns from now on. It’s definitely not just for babies. It’s a must‑have.
