Extremely clumpy - must run through sifter prior to use. UPDATE : The company reached out and wanted to send replacement product. I received the order and am happy to report the quality was excellent and the product is delicious and easy to use. I will buy this product again next time I need Cacao powder.

Where have I been to not know about this till now? It is many times more healthy, better tasting than dark chocolate, and less expensive per benefit. Wow, wow, wow. Since first getting this about a month or two ago, I've been putting it in my morning coffee and bedtime routine. Sweetened with a little stevia, whipped with a little water and mct or olive oil with a touch of inexpensive artificial vanilla extract and you've got a quick non-dairy creamy milk chocolate flavored smoothie. Quick, super healthy, and oh so yummy!

Tastes very good. I use it in protein shakes/smoothies. I prefer this for the nutrition rather than processed chocolate. I use it in post workout protein shakes and pack it with nutrition for recovery.

I came to cacao powder on the advice of a friend, a practitioner of Chinese medicine who thought coffee had become too tough on my liver. During research I learned loads -- that some products aren't strictly sourced and processed to maximize benefits and minimize detriments. For instance, some cacao carries naturally high heavy metal content (e.g. lead, cadmium) because of the soils where it is grown; and some companies process the beans in ways that diminish its nutritional value (e.g. flavenoids, which show benefits to the nervous system, brain function, and may help bolster short term memory according to early research). And most companies don't much test or report on these qualities. Further, one company that pedaled "ceremonial grade" cacao (which conjures a falsehood) added "superfood" ingredients and sold for over $50 for 8 oz. (Had to try it. Tasted good. That is all.) When I read TerraSoul's product description, the care in sourcing and third-party double-testing for heavy metals won me over; and the no-nonsense price was appreciated. I hoped it would taste good. It does! I fill a cup with hot water, add a spoon full of honey, and stir in two heaping spoons full of cacao powder, then enjoy. The caffeine effect doesn't take me on an up-down rocket ride, but rather boosts my energy, helps with focus. I like it. It has been a steady companion for over three months. I buy the 3 lb pack (1lb each). It's a great deal. And the company has been very responsive to my inquiries, even providing me with testing info. I used this for hot cocoa and it was fantastic! It is ground very fine so it mixed perfectly with the milk. The flavor was exactly what I expected.
