100 postcards of skateboarding fun.
This set is well made. The photographs are on sturdy postcards and are contained in a very nice box just big enough to hold the cardsMany of the photographs can be found in the photographer's other two books titled, "Silver Skate 70s" and "Locals Only," but there are other photographs in this set not found in the books. In the Book version they are featured as full page photographs. "Silver Skate 70s" features all black and white vintage photography and "Locals Only" features color vintage photography. The "Sun. Skate. 70s: 100 Postcards" is all in color. The two books and the 100 postcards serve as a time capsule. For many, the 1970s was a stormy decade, but despite everything that was going on, some found self expression through various art forms. Skateboarding was just one of those art forms.I enjoy watching the passion that these teenagers and young adults had. They took their sport very seriously and their passion and seriousness is reflected in these photographs. (All of them are beautiful). I am very glad (and grateful) that the photographer was there to capture and document these moments. I couldn't be there personally to witness these events, but I can share the moments, as they are beautifully displayed, through the photographs.Overall, is this set of 100 postcards worth it? Absolutely! For just pennies per card they are more than worth it. It is a great value for someone interested is all types of photography. It would have a special appeal for lovers of vintage photography. For me, the postcards were not enough, I purchased the other two books as well, and plan on buying them again, to send as a gift to a friend. All three items for under $59.00 is more than a bargain.

Sunshine and Nostalgia
Perfect for Postcrossing and 70s nostalgia. You can feel the sunshine and lightness of California past. Good card stock, fun pictures.

Smaller than expected, some iffy
Really get out your ruler and think about the size to make sure they are what you want. These are smaller than typical tourist postcards.Really thick paper, I love that!A lot of the photos are of children and teens. The photos are very artistic and taken from interesting angles. Given the age of the subjects, the lack of a shirt, and in some cases the camera angle, I'm not sure I will send all of them. We live in a very politically correct world, and right now there is extra hype (Q) about the depiction of children. I don't think there is anything wrong with these postcards, but out of an abundance of caution I will probably not send several of them.

A lot of good photos with some filler
Most of the photos are really nice, but some are of just plain text or signs that seem like filler.

Okay
I grew up in Southern California in the 60s and 70s, and these reminded me of that time. Some of the images weren't anything special, but some are really nice. Sturdy cards, good for Postcrossing.

70's Box of Postcards
I am very disappointed with this purchase. I really thought the box would contain a variety of the 70's but it was filled with shirtless boys and skateboarding. Would not purchase this if I knew!!!
