I built a backup system with two of these external HDs. One is the backup, the other is the mirror. They perform great. A fraction of the price of the Samsung T7 and twice the capacity. Great drives, great price, highly satisfied.

5 stars for customer service. Unfortunately the HD didn't work. Had to return it. Customer service was wonderful and very pleasant to work with. They walked me through testing the HD to be sure there was a problem with it and then replaced it when it failed the test. Really lovely people.

I needed a easy to use portable way to transfer large files, and store backups. This USB hard drive did the trick. It's small, runs off of my computers USB port, and works instantly just like plugging in a thumber drive does. Definitely satisfied with this purchase.

It didn't work with my Mac. I should have been more careful in reading the description. Unfortunately, I returned it. But WD is a good brand. No complaints about the actual item. There was 'owner' malfunction.

This is the second purchase for this same WD External Hard Drive. I currently have one and use it all of the time. I purchased a second one as a graduation gift. The product and company is very reliable with fast transfers and easy use. I wish that it would at least come with a protective case or soft storage container.

no issues after a year in service

I've been using the WD 2TB external hard drive since late 2021 (it's now the start of 2026). It's served me extremely well, and without any flaws or issues, for all that time. Note that the original I bought was defective, but its replacement has been an ideal storage solution for over 4 years. I did have to buy a second xhd, but that's only because I have a large digital media library. One is for movies alone, the other one - this one in question - has more than enough room for the last 5 years of work documentation, my entire music library, all of the TV shows I have digitized, my audiobook library, and there are still hundreds of gigs of space remaining.

I am impressed with this external hard drive. Very easy to use, small, compact and runs fast! Highly recommend this product.

I have several external drive and I have some WD drives that are ten years old and still working like new. Extremely reliable and well made product. It’s a drive that I would recommend to anyone. It’s very portable and you can bring it with you anywhere. It doesn’t heat up, the support from the WD team is amazing if you have questions or concerns. The cost could be a bit lower but I guess it’s worth paying more for a reliable product.

Disque dur au top, utilise depuis des années cette marque-là. Le prix est plus que raisonnable vraiment très satisfait.

This is a good-quality suprisingly-light usb portable drive that allows me to store 2 TB. I have gazillion files in my computer, both of work and personal nature, plenty of photos included, so this is super handy to back up my files and, also, to save files that I don't want to have on my laptop because they consume too much hard drive space. The drive comes with a short usb plug to plug it to my laptop but it's too short for a normal desktop computer. It comes very nicely packed in an inner plastic sturdy structure that I'm keeping to have the drive insulated. No installation necessary. It took about 1 minute for the drive to set up itself in my computer. My computer came with a pop up window asking me to reformat it, but that's not necessary whatsoever and I think it came up because I tried to open the drive before the set-up was finished. Transfers of large files is fast and reliable. I wanted to buy this model in another colour, but really it is more than 10 dollars up, so this black one is still lovely and easily recognisable by the embossed lines on the top. I have had, an still have, some other WD drives, and they're very good quality and have lasted me for years so I hope this does the same good job. I will update the review in the future if necessary but, so far so good.
