Motivates my son to write
My 6 year old has been having OT issues with his handwriting for about 2 years now. He is in 1st grade and his writing looking like it was done by an entering Kindergartener. I tried everything with him. This slant board is the only thing that works. I have the expensive paper with the yellow, I have the pencil grips and the small pencil. I did everything his OT told me to get. Then one day my friend told me about these kinds of products. She told me they were expensive and she also told me how to make one with a 5 inch binder. I was like that is tacky and I would look into it on Amazon. Yes, it is pricy, at 30 dollars but it is an investment for my son. Now let me tell you have how uses it. He puts his homework on it, clips it and he gets to work. I love how it is at a slant and this for some reason helps with his handwriting. Do not ask me how, but it does. I am not an OT provider but it works. He also uses it for his reading. He will put his book on it and read. He uses it for his art projects. Basically everything that involves him writing, drawing or reading goes on it. It is pretty big which I like. I just leave it on his desk. It you have a young child who has OT issues and needs help, I suggest you get this. Do not think of the cost. Just get it.

Great use recommended by an occupational therapist
In visiting an occupational therapist, she discovered I wanted to improve my hand coordination to ease my minor hand tremors and improve my handwriting. During my sessions, she noticed my handwriting improved with an inclined surface, but my elbow was still in the air. After purchasing this clipboard, I push myself and practice writing for 15 minutes a day. The more I do, the more I see my handwriting improve. As I believe I am ambidextrous, I practice writing with both my left and right hand. I have to write slow to get my handwriting legible. So far, my right hand is a lot more legible to read versus my left, which gets tremors a lot more and my elbow is high in the air (not good). So I practice with my left hand a lot. The slanted clipboard is great for improving handwriting for my right hand in particular and adding muscle I never knew. As long as I continue to practice handwriting (as hard as it may be), I will continue to add strength to my hands left or right). I would absolutely recommend this product to anyone who wants to improve handwriting specifically. The purchase will be well worth it, it works great for me. Try it!

It’s doing what it’s meant to but if the material was stronger and more stiff like solid wood that would be good. Sometimes very slightly it bends if weight applied to it while writing on it

I bought it for my 7 year old who need to practice his fine motor skills. Writing is challenging for him but I feel it helps with slanting his wrist. It’s sturdy enough. I reduced some stars because I find it on the overpriced side. The clip is durable and hold paper well.
