So much better than the slightly cheaper option
Disclaimer: I have never tried Green Olive's really fancy charcoal. I've tried numerous cheap disposable barbecues, a few automatic-light bags, and the Green Olive cheapest option (it's called "Garden Grill"). This is far and away the best. The Garden Grill wouldn't even light properly when I used my Weber chimney (I think partly because all the odd different sizes meant there weren't many gaps for air to get in), and gave a weak and short-lived burn. This charcoal (only about £4 more expensive) does what it says on the tin: gives a long enough, hot enough burn. If your BBQ base is a long way from the grill, I recommend bulking it out with something to move the coals a bit nearer (I use firewood). But after doing that, one medium sized chimney-full in my little travel BBQ (13 inches long) gave me 40 minutes of proper cooking heat, and I was still able to boil a pot of water from cold afterwards. Not the 2 or 3 hours advertised on the pack, but long enough to feed six people comfortably. I might try the 'professional' charcoal at some point, but right now this is my go-to.

You'll have a great Barbecue
Excellent product. Coals become extremely hot and last a decent amount of time. We light them with Weber firelighters

Not Sure
Just finished my 2nd bag, slightly disappointed didn't seem to last long (cook time). Also lots of ash left after cook. Back to Lumpwood now.

Don’t bother
Don’t bother, impossible to light these even with a great bbq firelighter. Ever got remotely hot enough to cook upon. Very poor and a waste of money…

Very good quality and value for money.
This is the 2nd time of purchasing this coal and I find it easy to light, very good quality, they don't let off too much smoke like some I've tried and they don't have any smell to them. They are ready to use for cooking on in 30 minutes and lasts for just over 3 hours which is good for us when we have a bbq as we don't go over the 3 hours. Highly recommend these coals for bbqing on.

Good briquettes for high heat or low and slow cooks
Had great success with these for both quicker cooks and really long snake method cooks. Easy to light with a fire lighter and chimney, burns evenly and at a consistent rate
