I can't get Vim in the shops now and have always relied on it for cleaning my bathroom.

Vim used to be sold in every supermarket and any store that sold cleaning materials. It was probably the most commonly used product for cleaning everything from pots and pans, especially those with burnt-on residue but also for cleaning sinks, the bath, the shower tray, most metal items etc etc. I recall my next door neighbour used to sprinkle it over his wet patio before giving it a scrub with a stiff yard brush. His patio came up like new. Vim is great to use on stainless steel surfaces too. Rub with a damp cloth, always following the grain. As a kid, I used it on copper circuit boards prior to applying etch resist because it leaves a perfectly clean, grease-free surface. Basically it is a scouring powder (looks something like pumice powder), with added bleach. Vim went out of fashion years ago, replaced with spray type cleaners that promised to do the same without the use of any 'elbow grease'. It is true that liquid cleaning products improved greatly but sometimes you need something that can add an abrasive action the the process. A little goes a long way and the abrasive action isn't too harsh. Every home needs a pack of Vim, trust me.
