Review: Fit great 2003 outback - Replaced a steering knuckle , and needed a new bearing , so I bought this kit , just wish it came with the grease seals. I found the seals locally at my nearby oriellys. Everything fit great , just remember to pack the bearings. They come with grease ti prevent rust , but don't come packed. Order seals when ordering this kit. Review: Nice & convenient - Why would you fart around with cutting the race off the old hub, when for $20 more, get a new one? It's soooo much faster to press in new hubs & bearings, my time is totally worth the $20 (especially in the rusted northeast)!

quality product
good fit and seems like a quality product. any worry I have is that the bearings { as I understand from service school ] should have grease is supposed to completely penetrate the bearing . the ones I got were only partly penetrated . I have no complaint but a shade tree mechanic if installed as I got them may not get proper service life. but I may be wrong. its possible that its correct as recived.

This hub solved a number of issues: spongy brakes, sketchy steering, imprecise steering and handling as well as a loud humming. Simple repair. The steering knuckle comes of in about ten minutes, then take it to a shop to have the old hub and bearing pressed out and the new ones pressed in. I found a guy with a press that did for only forty bucks. Should have done both sides. This isn't much harder than a brake job, and easier than replacing the axle. Just make sure you note the position of the upper strut bolt. It's tapered, so mark it so you can put it back in the same position.

awesome deal for the whole kit
awesome deal for the whole kit. I would highly suggest buying the inner and outer hub seal at the same time as this. The outer seal gets damaged when removing the bearing.

Ruined other parts do to poor fit and function.
Poorly fit product, the hub and bearing went together fine, however... On installing it the position of the hub turned out 3/16" off. This complicated the process and cost me the price of a new abs sensor as well as a lot of time to diagnose what exactly was wrong. Because of the 3"16" offset the brakes were off enough that it was causing the brake caliper to be positioned in such a manner that the brakes were also out of alignment, causing them to be fully locked up, hence the hub and rotor were unable to be rotated. I was able to make it functional by installing some shim's to line up the rotor. The abs sensor will also need to be shimed on installation or again completely ruin it. So! Bad fit causing damage to the braking system, costing me the price of an abs sensor and a day of diagnosis to convince myself this was a poorly fit part. In terms of fit and function it caused me to spend twice the money as buying the proper fit and function. My advice, remove your existing hub and bearing and measure the size in relationship to the new one. 3/16" is huge and will cause a complete failure of function. The other thing you can do is order the part from another seller as this one seems to have issues with either size or application.
