Superb toddler crayons
I actually gave a lot of thought to spending this much money on a set of crayons for a 1 year old, but these crayons are worth every penny! They come in a really nice plastic box (which we always put them back into). They are obviously triangular, so they will not roll off your table. These crayons are also stronger somehow than their crayola equivalents (they are also thicker). They have no pesky paper on them (for someone to tear off in little pieces...) yet they remarkably resist breaking. I can't tell you how many times these have been dropped from the highchair to the tile floor below with no breakage whatsoever (we have been using for roughly a year). My little one even likes just playing with them (and not coloring). Since they are a little harder than other crayons, I do find that a couple of the colors don't color as vibrantly as other brands, notably the pink. They are also not marked as "washable" but we have not had any problems with that aspect either. Overall, this is a nice, durable set of crayons that may actually last until you have used up the whole crayon.

Fun for toddlers
These are excellent crayons for a toddler to use! Big enough to grasp easily, writes well and smoothly, love that they're triangular so they don't roll around, and especially love the case. My toddler had more fun putting them in and out of the case than actually drawing with them..... The colors aren't super vibrant as Crayola crayons - the red especially looks more orange than red - but still happy with the set!

Best Toddler Crayons
These are hands down the BEST Toddler Crayons available! They're perfectly sized for little hands to grasp onto & not get frustrated with! They are also EXTREMELY STURDY as well! My almost 2 yr Grandson who could destroy a tank without breaking a sweat has had these crayons for 5-6 months now & NOT A SINGLE ONE IS BROKEN! Not even chipped! These are definitely the most incredible Crayons available! He used to get bored or not show much interest in coloring due to the combined frustration of not being able to grasp on to regular ones and when he did they'd almost immediately break every time. Leading to him either melting down or just not bothering with it much. Not with these Crayons though! I have art work all over my house! Both on paper & on the "walls" leading to the next best thing about these....there very easy to clean up after mistakes or intentional drawing on surfaces I'd rather he didn't. A quick wipe with 409 or even disinfecting wipes & everything is back to normal! I can't say enough good things about these Crayons! Seriously even the container they come in is fun!!

Some of the colors are very light
I love the case and they are sturdy, haven’t broken yet! Also appreciate how they don’t roll. I just left off a star because the purple and pink are super light and you have to push really hard to see them which my 2 year old daughter can’t do.

Brilliant!
Seriously, these crayons have to be one of the best inventions for toddlers EVER! I have a two year old who loves to draw, but will break the regular "jumbo" crayons just seconds after trying to use them. And then of course he refuses to use them at all when they are in half, so I was ALWAYS buying replacements for him! I just got these crayons in the mail yesterday and I am seriously in love. My son gave them a test run and is in love with them as well. They feel almost like plastic, but draw just as easily as a regular crayon. He did not break a single one and I don't think he is going to... I tried breaking one myself without any luck! The triangle shape & size are perfect for his little hands, and the carrying case is fantastic! He loves to put them back & re-arrange the colors in the case. I am soooo happy with this purchase! We will be ordering another set for Mimi's house as well!

Okay, not great...
I purchased these for my 14-month old so he could start becoming familiar with writing implements and the like based on the good reviews I read here. I know he's too young to use them properly, but I wanted to have them on hand. Pros: They're a good size for holding, and the bold colors are great. They write very smoothly which will be great when the time comes, and they seem pretty durable. Cons: The biggest negative is that, because of their shape, you can't really use the sides of the crayons unless you're very specific about lining up the triangular corner against the paper. The flat part doesn't really leave any color behind, which was definitely frustrating for my toddler since he obviously didn't know how to use them properly - when he rubbed them on the paper, nothing happened. I leave the review because I imagine for artists it must be annoying as well to not easily be able to use the flat side for shading, etc. Also, I purchased these crayons primarily because a prior reviewer had said that her kid didn't eat these like she did other brands - not so mine. As soon as it went in his mouth, a large purple sliver broke off and stuck to his tongue, which was pretty funny to see him try to get off, but left him covered in purple, me a bit worried, and the crayons on a shelf until he's older. They are a plastic blend, by the way, NOT petroleum-free (which they never stated, but I saw non-toxic and assumed - my fault.) The pale colors (pink especially) are quite pale and hard to see on white paper. They're okay, probably great for a three or four-year old who is learning to write but still needs chubby implements, but for youngers I'd splurge and go with the beeswax brands, and for olders I'd get something a little more conducive to subtle artistic usage.

My toddler loves these Melissa & Doug Jumbo Triangular Crayons! The triangular shape makes them easy for little hands to grip, and they don’t roll off the table like regular crayons. The colors are bright and vibrant, and the flip-top case keeps them organized and easy to take on the go. They’re sturdy too my kid presses hard and they don’t break easily. Great quality and perfect for young artists!
