Great Product
Really enjoying this English treat.

Two out of four were open and stale
I love Soreen and was very excited to find them available through Amazon since they're not sold in stores near me. Unfortunately two out of the four packages were open at the seam and the loaves were stale inside. The other two were tasty as always, but very bummed to only get half my order. :/

Brilliant alternative snack
Have to try this. Seriously need to. Every single bite is as good as first. Even toasting it works.

Wanted to try this after watching "The Great British Baking Show" ...
I'll admit -- I'd never had malt loaf before, despite several trips to the UK when I was traveling on business. I watched an episode of "The Great British Baking Show," noticed that one of the ingredients was the same as one that is listed in my favorite Cheesecake Factory rolls, and decided to give this a try. I like it. It's unusual -- a rather sticky, "stodgy," loaf with the unmistakable flavor of barley malt extract, with lots of raisins. I tried it as it was shown on the show: sliced with butter (I use unsalted Kerrygold butter). It was lovely! Pairs well with tea (of course), but also bourbon (yes, really!). You need the butter to cut through some of the sticky sweetness, but it just works great. Am I likely to order it again? I'd say a qualified "yes." It's unusual enough to warrant another order. A bit pricey compared to my Cheesecake Factory rolls, but definitely a nice change in texture/flavor. Solid 4 stars. I really do like it.

Bought this after watching a food documentary from England. Love it! Even starting working on our own recipe. Dr. M

Like a brick
Was sooo looking forward to the soft, malty bread I used to enjoy at home in England, before I immigrated to the States. So incredibly disappointed. The loaves were hard and stale. I managed to carve a couple of slices and toasted them. Not much better.

Brings back fond memories
I always got these when overseas visiting family. They are great toasted with some butter and a cup of tea. I can't tolerate wheat anymore but my mother loves them so I got them for her. She confirmed that they are fresh and mold free (some reviews mentioned old stock). I was tickled to find them here so that she can get her "fix" from home :)

Two of the four loaves were moldy
Only 1 load has been good so far - all 4 loaves are within date and in product wrapping and a clear plastic wrapper but obviously not air tight. I gave the last load to a friend so not sure if that was good or not.
