Would you recommend these? Good quality?

Depends on what you're looking for, they are cotton. So will shrink if not careful when washing. They are good quality cotton sweatpants. The material is on the thicker side so it's nice when it's cooler out. Drawstring works well and has pockets.

Can you machine wash and machine dry these?

I’ve machine washed and dried mine several times since receiving them - no issues at all. Cold water wash and medium dryer. Hope this helps!

Are these pants suited more for fall or winter weather? I'm looking for something midweight for the fall, rather than heavy winter pants. Thanks.

They should work well in the fall since they aren’t too thick or bulky. I practically lived in these sweats last year in fall/winter in Southern California. If they were any thicker, I don’t think I would have worn them as much since I would have gotten too warm.

I am a size 17/18 in pants, should i get an xl or xxl?

Definitely an XL—I wear an 18 and I love the XL size.
