The cord is 12-feet from plug to socket. How long is the cord between the plug and on/off switch?

I ordered two over a 6 month time period and second one of them had the on/off switch two feet from the socket not the plug which was very inconvenient with the second one eventually failing at the switch.

You have to use a lower wattage with these lanterns or else you risk setting a fire and destroying the entire display.
