What is material?? I have got the plastic one.

It is plastic -- probably compression-molded glass filled. I gave mine to a local charity.

how many in a single order do you get?

Hi Imre, Great question! We offer these on Amazon as single units, so if you want more than 1 T0112, you'll need to select the exact quantity you'd like to buy and then add them all to your cart. Hope that helps! The Swanson Team

will it float in water, building a boat dock .. dropped my aluminum one, sank like a rock..

Ok I had to try this out in the shop sink and Mine did not float. However it did not sink instantly but it did sank. Get a floating key chain like the ones used on a boat with the stainless chain to attach while your using it near the water. Little inconvenient but that will keep it a float if you drop it again. Once your dock is done go fishing for that Aluminum Catfish Square with a treble hook. LOL Have Fun and Good Luck

What type of plastic is it made of?

Great question! This square is made from High Impact Polystyrene - a "plastic" that is far more rugged and durable than a run-of-the-mill plastic. It is also easier to form, so it's accurate and lasting. thanks, The Swanson Team
