After I wrote my Original Review of 12 May 2016:"Appears-Smells to be Diluted in a Carrier Oil. Or, is from the weakest Sandalwood trees that grow on Mother Earth. Is it really Sandalwood?...Maybe I just got a weak/bad batch w/this Sandalwood. That can happen w/Oils..."I questioned in that review if this product was really Pure Sandalwood Oil; since the scent was very weak & the drops were very heavy, thick; as if the Essential Oil was mixed and diluted with a heavy carrier oil.I was contacted promptly after posting that review by Healing Solutions; by a Kathy; a very nice lady [who provided her name & phone w/her personal extension] advising me that they thought they had rec'd a "bad batch" back in the spring; [which I had also suspected as a possibility as to "why" this Sandalwood didn't seem very pure].Before I even had a chance to respond to her voice mail message; Healing Solutions sent out a replacement bottle.It arrived and sure enough; a Great Improvement compared to the 1st bottle.This IS "The Real Deal".Drops just right; scent strong , earthy & woodsy; what a difference.One of the Best Things in Life is when any of us can admit that a mistake was made; and then make amends for it.Be it by an Individual; or Corporation or Organization.And Healing Solutions did that, without asking anything of me.As the packager & purveyor of the products; it is not their fault if something happened on the distilling, manufacturing end of the business; and it is to their supreme credit that Healing Solutions is So Very Responsive, Caring & Integrity Motivated; that they have now acquired a new loyal customer. My original review is below, but I don't want to lead with a negative, since what's really important is how this seller made things right. A couple days after I posted my review and wrote off ever using ylang ylang oil (or buying anything else from this seller) again, one of their reps left a really nice voice mail message expressing concern that they may have shipped out a bad batch and promised to fix it. Without hesitation, and on their own perogative, they express-shipped me another bottle of the ylang ylang EO, along with a couple of extra droppers to address the drippy situation with the last bottle.The bottle was sealed, showed no leaks and did not have that strong odor right out of the package like the original bottle did. I sniff tested both of them. Now THIS bottle of oil was much better! Both my husband and I compared the old bottle (shown in the left in the picture with a faint blue "O" drawn on the label) with the new and noticed immediately that the old one had the overpowering, industrial odor that the new one didn't. The new one was also powerful, but with that familiar sweet, floral, perfumey aroma instead. Slightly bitter, anise-like. I used the new oil in a bath bomb recipe tonight, and it came out really nice. I did not throw the bath bombs away like with the batches made with the old bottle and they are still sitting on my dining room table, behaving themselves (see pic). Now, I'm still not a fan of ylang ylang on its own (too flowery), but it seemed to smell like it was supposed to and blended well with the other scents I was using. Also, zero problems with the dropper on this one, so I doubt I'll need the extra droppers they sent me.I gotta say that this company did everything it could to make things right, short of coming over and fixing me a home-cooked meal. For that alone, they should get 5 stars, but since this is a product review, I'm rating it on its own merits and would still give it 5 stars because of the strength and integrity of the oil (some people complained it was diluted. Um..what.) and the functionality of the bottle, which is about all I really care about.Now I'm going to order another oil from these people (bergamot? rose? not sure yet), without the same reservations.***ORIGINAL REVIEW BELOW***I really tried with this product, but it was just awful. I don't know if it's because I have an aversion to ylang ylang or if it's this particular version. It is extremely powerful. It has an overpowering aroma of alkaline (urine?) and burnt rubber or tar, with just a hint of sweet floral. A nightmare combination. I tried making bath bombs with this three times, each with successively reduced amounts. The first batch, 1/2 teaspoon diluted in 2 TB of oil to mix in with 1 pound of bath salts. It was so extremely retched that I threw the whole thing away. The next try, I reduced it to 10 drops ( I meant only 5, but I had no control over how much came out of the dropper...another issue). Still bad, and I threw away. The last batch, I used only TWO drops to 2 TB of oil. I let the finished product sit on the table, went to a movie to clear my nose and came home. It was still terrible, overpowering everything. In the trash it went. I'm giving it two stars because if you like this scent, you will definitely get your money's worth as it is highly concentrated, but not the full 5 stars because the dispenser is dysfunctional.

I love the quality of Healing Solutions essential oils. They are my favorite company to buy from, and I keep coming back! I have recommended Healing Solutions to several friends who are starting to use essential oils. When I tell them about Healing Solutions essential oils, I also send them to the Healing Solutions website to discover for themselves the standards of practice and production, honor of the company to stand by those rigid standards, and the quality and purity of their certified organic oils. When compared to the two leading popular producers of essential oils, namely DoTerra and Young Living, the overwhelming difference is cost. When compared to DoTerra's oils they are comparable in quality, but there is a gap in cost. When compared to Young Living's oils, Healing Solutions produces individual essential oils AND blends whereas Young Living's market is solely essential oil blends - and there is still a gap in cost. Overall, I feel the better investment is Healing Solutions essential oils. When you buy Healing Solutions essential oils, you get quality organic essential oils AND essential oil blends - while remaining comparable in quality and formulation to the two leading, higher priced essential oil companies.

Nice smell, pretty strong so you don’t need to use a lot.
