Absolutely awesome film. This review will look at the film and then go in-depth. This film is brilliantly made, the cinematography is excellent, locations look great. Dialogue and character interactions are equally great. It’s a fantastic adaptation. As mentioned in other reviews here and online, this adaptation does not strictly follow the book. Characters are changed slightly and their backgrounds are altered. The time that it is set in is different to the book. This does not take away that the film is brilliant. The pace of the film is just perfectly done. Pennywise is brilliantly portrayed and costume matches how it was described in the book. When compared to the 1990 adaptation, the story is not as in-depth but then neither was that to the book. It’s a great film and worth watching. After reading the book recently, and watching the made for tv adaptation years ago I have bought both remakes (chapter 1 and 2) and the 1990 tv series too. All are definitely worth a watch.

A good movie. Not as good as the second one though.

Usually, I am not a fan of remakes, especially of the classics.. but they did an amazing job with this one! Don't be put off by the age of the main cast, it does not in any way detract from the deserved horror genre it sits in. There are sufficient and well planned jump scares, gore and edge-of-your-seat anticipation throughout the whole film. These important parts of any good scary movie are well-coupled with a brilliant level of comedic value, humour which is definitely adult centred, so you won't be disappointed with it. The movie does touch on some sensitive issues, in the personal lives of each cast member and these are pretty hard hitting. There are references to abuse, neglect, munchausen by proxy.. so be warned that there are some sad parts which might trigger you. All in all, this film is a tremendous combination of horror, with comedy, with real life issues. I thoroughly recommend it.

Great film, totally worth it to watch. However, i do find the jump scares are pretty predictable but the stories are great, there are a lot of things missing from the book though. Regardless of that its a great watch.

Scared the life out of me, which my kids thought was very funny . King is a great writer and this a is a very good film if you like being scared

Once I finished reading the book I had to watch the movie to see if it wad as good as the book is. I liked it, but I suggest to read the book first.

top movie a must see and buy

Steelbook eccellente. Qualità grandiosa ed ottimi contenuti extra. Con la mia figure di Pennywise fa indubbiamente la sua bella figura. Un consiglio a tutti gli acquirenti: per rimuovere la cover di carta senza strapparla dovreste riscaldare col phon un paio di secondi, non di più, così che si stacchi da sola senza lasciare nessun tipo di residuo. Con me ha funzionato e sono stato anche abbastanza fortunato, mi dispiace solamente non aver un posto dove poterla conservare.

This is the updated 2017 live-action adaptation of Stephen King's novel, It, directed by Andy Muschietti. This is the first of two movies and is set in the late 1980s when the heroes are kids. The movie stars Jaeden Lieberher as the main protagonist Bill Denbrough, whose brother Georgie is killed by a monster at the beginning of the movie, setting Bill on a quest for revenge, and Bill Skarsgard as It/Pennywise, the ancient evil that terrorizes the town of Derry Maine every 27 years. The rest of the main cast includes Jeremy Ray Taylor, Sophia Lillis, Finn Wolfhard, Wyatt Oleff, Chosen Jacobs, Jack Dylan Grazer, and Nicholas Hamilton. There are several differences between the movie and the book, one of the main differences being that the Children's part of the story is set in the late 1980s as opposed to the 1950s. Also, the book jumps back and forth between the story with the group as kids and as adults, which makes it very hard to follow, so the movie is much more streamlined in the storytelling. And, even by splitting the story into two movies, they could not include every element that was included in the book, so there are parts of the story that the movie takes out. The book has a lot of exposition and backstory that is honestly not needed in the movie, so I do not think anything that is left out of the movie is really missed. And, the movie does change the most controversial part of the book from something that could never be filmed to something that could. For those who get the 4K set, there are two discs, the UHD disc with just the movie itself, and the regular blu-ray which has the movie and the extra. The A/V quality of the UHD disc is fine, but not great. The movie was shot in 2k, so it is upscaled to 4k, and honestly does not look much different than the video quality of the regular blu-ray. The extras include trailers, about 15 minutes of deleted scenes, and three different behind-the-scenes featurettes, one on Pennywise, one on the cast of kids, and then one in which Stephen King is interviewed about this latest adaptation of the book. Overall, the movie is very good. It is still not overly gory, but it does get a bit gory toward the end. Still, it is more of a psychological thriller than a blood-and-guts horror movie. The acting is very good, which given the cast was made up of young, mostly unknown actors (Finn Wolfhard was probably the most well-known of the child actors), is kind of surprising. Bill Skarsgard is great as Pennywise, who is definitely the main attraction. He can switch from innocent, to creepy, to scary at the drop of a hat. Even if you are not a huge fan of the book, this is still worth watching, as it is one of the few times where I have found a movie to be better and more entertaining than the book. It is definitely a must-watch if you like horror movies.
